I think it’s a bit hyperbolic to hand wring when all week coaches and fans and schools talk to these players that they’re going to war against their biggest rivals and then when they do come out victorious, especially on an away field and as the underdog, they celebrate on the other team’s logo and the loser gets their nose pushed in.

Don’t like flag planting (as silly and symbolic as it is)? Win the game and it won’t be an issue.

i can't imagine a coach doing less with the checkbook and resources day has. largest athletics budget in the country. largest nil collective in the country. top 5 recruiting class every year. one playoff win in 5 years. 1-4 in the game.
