I didn't. Used market price bump to the GT version is fairly nominal, so I didn't see any reason to get the less fun version.

edit: for whatever it's worth, reasons I didn't go with an Ioniq:
Ioniq's frunk is small enough to be essentially useless. Mach E's frunk is big enough to hold smelly bike gear.
I was looking at used ones, and older Ioniq's don't have a rear window wiper. I like to see what's behind me, and for about 7 months of the year, my rear window is frequently coated in grime. Apparently 2025 Ioniq's have one.
And the biggest reason is that, at least in my market, a comparable used Ioniq is going for about $10k more than a Mach E. While the Ioniq did have some clear upsides (the biggest being the heat pump, which the Mach e now has, but mine doesn't), it didn't seem like there was $10k worth of upsides.

Recently picked up a Nissan Ariya, small battery version, for an in town appliance and it’s a pretty nice little car. Handles snow/ice like a champ with Nokian EV-specific snows and it generally feels unexpectedly upscale, quiet, fit/finish, etc. level [emoji638] charging at home a must though with the smaller battery.

Read the same. Definitely leaning that way.

Also read these are pretty decent. These were quite a bit more expensive locally in the northeast.

I do believe you’re the only person here that gives a shit. These people are just clueless morons. File under shit that annoys me.
Add me to the list and that makes 3 of us giving a shit. I've been losing my mind every day when dropping the kid at daycare, parents will pull into the lot and let the car idle while they check the kid in. I've overheard 2 conversations about the air quality this week from people who went back to their idling car. Motherfuckers if you don't want little Timmy outside breathing the shit air maybe think about what you're doing for a second?
Today I had to run back home after drop off, there was a Dodge2500 idling a couple houses away when I left, it was still idling when I came back 15 minutes later. How fucking long does it take to heat up one of these?
Gonna have to keep a can of gas and a lighter in the EV to solve that problem...

EDIT: update on the Ioniq5 in the winter, definitely noticing reduced ranged and higher electricity consumption now that it's cold. Went from 4.0 mi/kWh all summer down to 3.3 in the last month. The 4 new snow tires aren't helping but climate control eats quite a bit of juice, not surprising given that it uses a heat pump vs relying on engine heat. That being said I can pre-heat the car in the AM in the amount of time it takes to put a jacket on myself and the kid, toasty in a couple minutes. Ms Boissal is very jealous.

A big diesel will never heat up at normal idle sitting in the driveway. Ford or Cummins. They have to work to heat up.

Who’s on the list for the Scout ev’s?

Glad to know those 20 minutes of idling didn't even do shit then. We can literally taste the air in SLC right now, so pleasant.

I was passing a Hyundai dealership and stopped and looked at the Ioniq 5 today. Seems like a nice, versatile around town transportation vehicle. Not too big but had fairly ample space inside for someone to sit behind me in the rear driver side seat but still have room for groceries/suitcases on the back.

    5.2 miles / kWh claimed….impressive if true.

Dodge’s big entry into the EV world is a 3 ton behemoth that’s slower and more expensive than a Hyundai. But don’t worry, it makes V8 noises.

Anyone else following the Canoo saga? Looks like it’s about to implode. Sad.

Ended up with an IONIQ 5 AWD long range. $150/mo all-in and 10k miles/yr. It's like a super nice golf cart. It's great.

The term is short at 13 months. Allowed mileage is lower at 10k. It's an SE stripper trim although it has more doodads than my 2022 GX.

    51,850 MSRP
    4,437.73 Discount
    15,000 Rebate
    32,665.50 Residual Value

Did not ask about the money factor since I was only focused on smallest total outlay, but I do know the one pay reduced the money factor to a point where it saved another ~200 off the total cost of the lease.

Ignorant question: What happens after the thirteen month term ends.

With a 32,665.50 residual he could just hand them the keys and be ahead.

    I shoulda refreshed.

That's a killer deal for a year long test drive. Back when I was looking, west coast Hyundai dealers were asking for "market adjustments" (and getting them)

A 33k residual seems like a pipe dream when looking at 2023 comparables.

Yeah and it sux. I was really looking forward to this or something very similar coming together. I'm glad I got out of the stock early on and it didn't hurt too badly.

Sounds like someone needs to remind Honda that Boeing used to be a company outside of McDonnell Douglas.

I’m sure i talked smack about electric cars some where in this thread, but now I’ve leased one, primarily for the wife. A few years ago she said didn’t want plug her car in each night, but she is cool with it now. We’ll see how this goes.
