There’s a Mammoth Resort credit card that you pre-load money onto. I’m not sure if you physically pickup the “resort card” or link it through your iphone with an app and scan it at a point of sale.

    Make cash great again.

Best spending limit is running out of green backs in your pocket.

On a brighter note, looks like the storm door may open towards the end of next week(ish)

A few pics from Wed & Thursday. Been a fun week to get out and rip some turns on the groomers. A great week of early December skiing.

Lots of solo laps in the Gondi the last few days. Per ski Tracks since Monday I'm approaching 100 runs and a 100K vertical.

Afternoon Daves. This and Cornice continue to be the best skiing off the Top. Talked with a friend yesterday that's now living in Park City and was talking about how good the conditions were at Mammoth. She said PC sucks right now with very little snow or open terrain. Could be much worse. Ski safe and enjoy the MTN.

That all looks so tantalizing. Keep the shots coming. My kid is gonna love a pic of Solitude with just one person on it. The one we grabbed from last season had about a hundred.

It wasn't bad on Sunday. I mean if you are getting creative there will likely be a ton of buried sharks after the next storm, but I didn't hit anything on groomers last weekend. I was sick w/ some kinda Fijian stomach stowaway so didn't get to the top.

Looking good over the next 4-5 days and headed up on Sunday. Due to 3 people in the car, I am trying to bring 1 pair of skis. I am thinking on piste will still be the call due to early season sharks or would some mid waisted 100mm skis be a better call IYO? My piste skis are 84 waist Kastle's.

Thx for the Pro Tip PW. Think I will go with an older pair of Elans.

Condo rentals during the week are pretty cheap but you could also try Quality Inn or Motel 6, both of which are gonna be kinda shitty but if it's for a night who cares.

Great win buff on Sunday afternoon and today should be even more so with higher winds in the forecast. So glad to be back in the mountains skiing. Nothing's fucking better

Real happy we went up Thursday night for this weekend. Worked Friday morning, then skied leftovers all Friday afternoon on a totally empty mountain. Was excited for a day of storm skiing until they closed the mountain entirely. Waited in a fucked up line at Canyon Sunday morning, then lapped 22 most of the rest of the day. The afternoon wind buff yesterday was so so good.

Saturday afternoon the storm winds blew in a wall at McCoy Station where the woolly mammoth is located; apparently a lot of the memorabilia they had up on the wall got sucked out and can not be located. Sunday was epic, top was wind scoured in sections but snow conditions were selectively excellent.

My buddy who was working on the Mtn Saturday said that tree’s started coming down due to the winds. One fell across Pumpkin down by LE blocking half the run. After multiple reports including one that blew down next to the LE magic carpet the decision was made to shutdown operations before someone got nailed.

I waited til 12:30 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) and headed up to see if an afternoon session was doable. Almost turned around when cars were parked down to the earthquake fault but ended up scoring a front row spot at ch 4. Skied from 1:00 til closing, got in 14 runs and never waited in line longer than 1-2 minutes.

Ch 5 had some excellent wind blown on it and zero line at the bottom.

Headed out to that one spot and found some untracked lines late in the day. Due to the nearest chairs being closed it was a three chair circuit both times (Eagle exp, Can ex, Hi5 ex) to get back which limited the amount of traffic out there. Note, that traverse line to it is “interesting.” Be prepared for lots of high speed whoops.

Finished the day with laps on ch 23. Winds were buffing out everything to the lookers right side of the chair.

It’s easy to find where the good snow is at the Top, just look where everyones at. Wipe Outs were really fun. Last Top run of the day and it was getting cold and dark. According to the patrol weather page the wind chill was -6 deg at the Top at 3:30 p.m.

Today (Mon) is looking like a down day. Almost everything is in wind hold with gusts at 80+ mph over the Top.

Anyone have tips on good spots to park my camper overnight in/around Mammoth Lakes? I usually spend the night on Substation Rd, but wondering about more secluded spots (with less noise from the 395) nearby.

Much nicer day on Tuesday with much less wind and very manageable crowds. Skied the Top for most of the afternoon with snow conditions ranging from punchy to good wind buff. Daves and lower Dropouts skied well. Couple pics from Tuesday.

The snow in between Climax & Daves (Dry Creek) was smooth and looked good from G2. It’s more on the punchy side especially if you try to ski it fast.

The pic above was taken just above the rocks under TOW. Snow looked better than it skied.

Dave’s continues to ski well with the best snow in the center and far lookers left line. Smooth winter chalk without the feeling you might punch through it at high speed.

1:30 at the Top of Gold Rush with very light traffic. Big warm up yesterday & today with highs near 50 deg the next few days. Enjoy.

Just got back from skiing SAT-MON. It's only my second trip of the year, but the mountain has reasonable coverage.

Saturday was nice, but my wife is a few days behind me, so we were late to get to the top as boots were still being broken in. Climax, and Drop 1 were still nice, some fun cut up stuff, although there were a few slightly firm patches. Dave's was similar.

We had hoped for some wind, but that didn't materialize. On Sunday we skied pretty much the same terrain as Saturday. There are nice turns to be had, some of the bumps were pretty soft in both Climax and Drop 1, and you could find nice lines through, but the mountain really could use some good wind to buff things out.

Today, Monday, we did a bunch of 9 laps, which was a pretty nice way to start, then a few more drop 1 and Climax laps.

Overall, the mountain is skiing pretty well. There are some crusty spots, and now that Saturday's new snow has been skied some wind is desperately needed. That being said, some spots that looked a bit bumpy skied smoother than they were.

I didn't get over into monuments/noids, but there looked to be some sections with decent turns. Having said that, it's still pretty rocky in lots of spots.

Last weekend was actually pretty quiet, Im guessing the fires have people canceling their trips. Spent most of satruday at June getting the little one out for the first time. Really liked the atmosphere over there. Is there a magic carpet at Mammoth that can also be used by people not in lessons? I didnt see any that were not in the ski school areas which I just leaves lift serviced options, any recommendations on best places to teach the little one?

Mammoth was actually busy on Saturday; for some reason upper gondi station line at McCoy was out the door around lunch time . Decent conditions despite it being 55 degrees Friday afternoon.
