Daaaaayummmm. Thanks everyone for the infos.

Awesomeness! - and a lite shout out to Telehacker and Hopeless Sinner for the messages and offers. Blew my gotdam mind I tell yas!
    Stoke, stoke, stoke!

And ask anyone, I'm all about firsties. Regardless of condish.

I'll have some older straight 215 DHer's and a sweet pair of Fischer WCGS195?'s for actual turns.

Prolly haul those over if the goods are righteous. I'll be down to rip around with other fast skiers.

Got a kick out of da klixter's vague challenge.

    I'm in.

You'll meet the gofasters, don't worry. If you can park in the upper warmsprings lot -get there early, before 8:30 -you lap warmsprings and greyhawk, then get off the big boards when the traffic shows up. You can ski to the truck and ski back to the lift. There are places to go fast all day, but the off-piste ( the bowls, etc) are pretty ok. Plus the glades. Plus turkey bowl. Plus, plus plus. I'm betting this won't be your last visit. It can be pretty sketch on a low snow year, but when we've got coverage, it's an amazing mountain.

Right on. Teasing about the challenge.

SV has always had a solid rep as a premier gofast venue. I am very stoked to have an opportunity to join the fun.
And I gots a shitton of mileage at the vill so I can be happy on just marginal/ok conditions. Not a picky skier in general. And if I'm with a friend, I tend to downshift gears anyway.

Just in it for the fun. Although I can be pulled into a waxrace tuck as much as the next guy.

My first ski area to visit, outside of the West coast, was Sun Valley in the early 1990's.
I've been planning on going back, this time is now

I got the full IKON to hit Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Snowbasin & Deer Valley this year
(JH & DV will be cherry poppers)

It would be awesome to ski with you in WY, ID & CH this season!

^^^ Related to that, when my buddies and I were traveling like this to check out Western resorts, (I think Sun Valley was like the third or fourth place), we were looking a lift line, and thought:
“oh this is where the women are”.

Thanks, sometimes a little, says a lot. Some hills are just well suited for skiing, others, not so much. And being well run is a huge factor. I 'spect SV has it dialed by now.

Stoked for this, I like change and enjoy new attitudes about skiing, at least to me. Any advice on how to up my game?
I'm concerned about being a kook amongst the well healed. In Jh they're the marks. It'll be me, I bet, over yonder.
Should I go the fancy Dale sweater look and ski like Stein or maybe the angry texas kook, but bringing the heat ?

Thanks mag, anything is possible. I'm gonna play this jaunt by ear and conditions but if we can time it, that'd be cool, agreed.

    Angry texas kook is out.

It begs the question, 'what do the rippin, single, skiing ladies of SV look for out on the hill?'

The rippin' ladies are easy to spot -" OMG that's a girl." Dress like you live in the mountains. The joke is they all want to look like us.

I have some crazy silly ensembles for giving the gapers something to look at. On fast days I like the one piece, thick cotton winter camo hunting outfit. Over the 215's I get looks and plenty of convo on the chair.

Or the old school TNF extreme team outfit, or the Jackson expensive hardshell outfit that looks like it has a gajillion days on it; dirty around the pockets, kinda smells of weed...

Really looking forward to turns with you mags. I'm stoked.

Whatever you wear, don’t forget to wax yer moustache.

Stretch pants and a nice Dale sweater always works for me on the longboards.

Hah, wax the stache! That'd be a first. Get some Snidely Whiplash stylings...

I have no stretchpants but I saw some at the thrifter the other day. That'd be funny, maybe roll those at the vill. Got a few nice Dales tho.

I see where a handful of mags may be swinging into SV for the WC events. That'd be very cool. Gonna try, myself.

Perfect snow conditions and empty for the first few "fast", for me, laps of the season today.

Could be a big year in the wood river valley? Seems like the current pattern is perfect for sv?

Could be but it's finicky here. The flow really has to be from SW or we get shadowed. The good news is it really doesn't take all that much to cover the gravel and sage.
