It looks like if we want something opened, we only have to post it on this thread. Sunrise,Numbers and the Glades are open. Tomorrow should be better than today.

Coming this weekend from UT (yes, I am fully aware this is in interesting choice given the current snow conditions here vs there) and looking for some guidance/beta. Larger group with various ski levels. I've skied SV about 15 yrs ago and have a vague understanding of where to go but understanding your current questionable snowpack I dont want to end up somewhere I seriously regret.
    • early/late resort touring - anything specific to know here beyond confirming it is open via the app? Parking at the base and transiting from touring to alpine gear in the AM?
    • full BC touring, how bad is coverage? Worth it at all?
    • cross country - any areas to prioritize or avoid?

Today skied like spring in the bowls. Still winter on the warmsprings side. Check the SV website for hiking early protocols. The backcountry has a bad layer at the bottom, check the avy report. XC skiing at the golf course and north of town. Have fun!!

that's some pretty big blocks. Pretty sure I skied that a few times last year before traversing back to the new gladded terrain.

We were in the area yesterday (not in big bowl). It all seemed ok, but the wind DID blow. You're going to have fun. They opened up The Glades all the way to the Coldsprings Chutes. They also gladed Numbers this summer. Be safe.

you guys do stoke in this thread?

On skis by 12:30 today. Skied 4 laps in the glades until they kicked me out, skied as many laps as I could off frenchmans in the trees between frenchmans and jans until they kicked me out then skied some trees off challanger for the final lap.

My first pow day in maybe 7 years of coming here yearly. Was insanely good. Get to do it again tomorrow too! woo!

no stoke pics because I was solo!

got to ski the remaining snow of the storm with da klixter and his crew. Great crew who took me under their wing and let me chase them around the mountain and ski zones I've never skied before. Thanks a bunch dk!

Sun Valley and surrounding mountains are absolutely breathtaking (enhanced by a layer of fresh.)

Apparently it snows in sun valley, who knew?

Great to ski with you, NBA Bucks. Thanks for the pics. Let's hook up again and we'll show you the other half of the mountain.

Made my first trip to Sun Valley this year. What a ski hill! 3400 feet of first tracks down River Run. Blasting bumps old school style under Seattle Ridge. Flying through the chop and airing the roads on Holiday. Sneaking through the tight trees to hit the Gondi cliff lines. Some sick crazy tight tree runs all the way to Broadway. I prolly blew it. Didn’t ski a groomer the whole trip. Ha. Oh well.

The price of the early late is 500 been around when it was 200. But it lines up with kids spring break and Seattle ridge and the bowls are kind of sweet in March. Getting stoked

Me neither. There's a pine in the foreground so I'll guess up the road somewhere.

My guess would be somewhere off carbonate coming down to the river. Or if not some similar aspect into riparian.

I don’t, but my buddy who hangs out over there checks a FB ‘lost river mountaineering’ page for current conditions.

Copy that. I’ll have to find someone with FB to check it for me. Thanks

That what I'm hearing. Looking at point forecasts it looks like it might be staying a little cool this weekend to soften up, mid 30's and some wind, but sunny. But maybe its still chalky cold up high?

    Hard sayin not knowin.
