It’ll be interesting to see how fast Trump can end this provoked war. Hopefully get the parties together and hammer out some concessions and put it to bed. Give Russia a slice of Ukraine with a Russian guarantee to F off. This war can’t go on forever. Eventually a deal will be made. Might as well do it in January.

Why don't you head over there and get started. Rudy is to broke to make it. I recommend flying in to Russia where it's safe. And don't forget to take all of your drugs.

LOL. There is no such thing as a Russian guarantee. That's the problem. Putin is a lying POS. Zelensky is right to push back on any land concessions. EU should also have a seat at the table, since Putin wants Ukraine to not join the EU. That should IMO be worth Russia leaving the Donbas region. Then give back Kursk for a chunk of Western Crimea at a minimum. But Biden should just take the gloves off and let Ukraine strike as deep into Russia as possible with US weapons. Same for EU/NATO countries.

Russia has no right to a single square mile of Ukraine.

True - But Putin doesn't agree with that assessment.

Trump asking Zelensky for another favor - Can you please start buying some Cybertrucks.

    From NYT
Trump Put Musk on Phone With Zelensky During Call
Elon Musk was with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago when the president-elect spoke with Ukraine’s leader. It is not clear what they discussed.

Well, maybe Ukraine can build them, but Ukraine's grid cannot support electric vehicles because of Putin.

According to the WSJ Musk happened by while Trump was on the phone with Zelensky. The significance of this story is probably more about Musk's access to Trump and less about Elon & Ukraine per se. Reading between the lines, it sounds like Trump wants to end the war quickly with Zelensky explaining how that's easier said than done. Russia could, of course, end the war tomorrow by removing its troops from Ukraine's sovereign territory.

"Elon Musk Made Appearance on Trump-Zelensky Call

Musk’s appearance on the call, which was first reported by Axios, wasn’t coordinated, according to people familiar with the conversation, but he happened to walk into the room right as Trump and Zelensky were speaking.

Trump conducted the call from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Trump acknowledged the billionaire owner of SpaceX, whose Starlink satellite service is used widely by Ukraine’s forces, and Musk said hello, prompting Zelensky to say hello back. Zelensky then noted he was using Starlink for the conversation, and Musk replied that he would keep sending more Starlink ground stations to Ukraine and then left the room. "

President Zelensky in a public address in Budapest today:

"We are not defending ourselves from Russian words, but from Russian attacks. Therefore, we need a sufficient amount of weapons, not support in negotiations,

Embraces with Putin will not help. Some of you have been embracing him for 20 years and things are only getting worse. He only thinks about wars and will not change. Only pressure can put him in his place.""

I’m kinda pessimistic on what Trump’s gonna do here, and I base that on the observable result that Trump's actions so far may have already diminished US capability to apply deterrence.

Importantly, his rhetoric consistently highlights a desire for a cease-fire respecting Russian territorial gains, to date, and he doesn't seem to give a shit about NATO. Both positions aligning with Putin's current demands.

More, Trump's campaign speeches these past few months have regarded both Ukraine and Zelensky very poorly.

Maybe it’s grandstanding to hold together his isolationist coalition? The mere perception of the United States potentially abandoning Ukraine may be sufficient to weaken NATO's credibility, further providing Putin with a political advantage at home and abroad.

Trump's boastful promise to end Putin’s “special military operation” in a single day undercuts his own credibility, particularly if no details of his plan appear, begging any question of consequences if Putin should reject Trump.

Can't really say what Trump will do. He deliberately weaves elements of the "madman theory" into his myth, using unpredictability to gain advantage, though his internal strategic monologue may be no deeper than that.

Biden allows US military contractors to play.

If Ukraine has the funds, this could be a big factor as many private military contractors are highly experienced combat operators. The wild card will be access to weapons and equipment.

I donno. Can't win at the front unless you can kick them in the rear. But we haven't been in it to win it for a generation.

Well I'll be very sad if Joe doesn't pardon his son.

Now, back to the war in the Ukraine.

    Ukraine

A concept coming out of the trump administration is to concede Putins gains and establish [emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] mile DMZ. Western troops overseeing the DMZ. With an assurance to Putin there will be NATO aggression into Ukraine for [emoji638][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] years. Not sure if putin will be excited about western troops on his border tho. With trumps America first agenda perhaps the troops will be European as Russian advancements in Europe are Europe problem, not America’s.

The idea of carving off 800 miles of Ukraine from the present line of contact and moving Ukrainians out of it did not originate in Trump's camp. Unless Trump's camp has a team of people creatively looking for ways to suck Putin's anus.

An 800 mile(!!!) dmz behind which is a devastated Ukraine backed by a dysfunctional nato is the single dumbest idea I've ever heard of. Who's defending what exactly? At what cost? It's just a beach head.

Cmon, are you that uninformed? Or a troll?

Ukraine launched 14 drones and took out a gunpowder manufacturing plant 50 mile south of Moscow. Keep kicking Putin in the ass.

How long can they keep it up without vigorous support and where is that coming from? 14 drones isn't a decisive offensive, that's with current backing.

Maybe Trump backs Israel attacking Iran and maybe that reduces Iran's supplies to Russia. But that's just war spreading and spreading until God only knows what.

JD Vance has said he wants peace in the region but also said we need to give far less of a shit about Ukraine. He’s focussed on America first.

Let Ukraine and Europe deal with Russia. But the whole thing will go away if NATO expansion plans take a hike.
