Peak Skis - Are those shitbags going out of business?

I bet Peak would have survived financially if they sold accident insurance with their skis.

    Oops wrong thread.

Skip to 41:45 if you want to hear his comments on elan making peak skis. Worth it from there on to hear about being competitive

Interesting although Ligety should have probably called Bode a fraud directly. Something fishy is going on with Peak. They should be stocking skis by now and if they are about to arrive like the website says then why aren't they taking preorders?

It's all about the keyhole technology. It carves like a race ski on firm, dances like a butterfly in the pow, and blasts through crud like a freight train. And if you go fast enough, Bode's signature on the skis lights up like a Christmas tree.

Fine tuned with even more Peak DNA!

Man, I didn’t think that was even possible. That must be why they’re late. Bode must have been like “Guys, we’re not building these skis until we figure out how to put more Peak DNA in them!”

And Elan was like, “Bode, WTF are you talking about? We’ll schedule your production run once you pay your required deposit.”

I've cat skied on Stormrider 88s and had great in bounds days too.
Not sure what Snowbrains is, this popped up in my feed. Lots of ads though.

If, according to the marketing, the Peak 88’s versatility is legendary, then why did they change it? Is it because the legend was that it wasn’t very versatile?

And I can confirm the SR 88 is a great ski for firm groom to 3” pow to spring slush. Maybe deeper than 3” but I pull out the SR105s for that.

Looks like they finally paid just enough bills to get the Peak 88s (even if late), but most everything else is still unavailable.

Peak is very likely on their last legs.

Hopefully this is the last business deal that Andy and Bode convince people to invest in. If you're going to suck people out of money, at least create something rad instead of this lame shit.

true, but when you get the spare seat call at 6:30AM you take what's in the truck, maybe I'll drill a hole in them to make them even better

The same ski (unchanged) was #6 last year. If Bluster reviews needed an argument in their favor, this would be it. Even if reviews are a side hustle to their insurance hawking business.

On the surface it's a terrible look and if Ski/Outside had any credibility left at this point (which I don't think it did) it would be completely shredded now.

But I want you to consider some legitimate scenarios.

    1) the latest test batch of skis could have had an extra dose of Peak DNA injected into them

    2) Bode may have personally delivered this batch of skis, and could have given the editor a handy while explaining the physics of keyhole technology.

    3) provided a generous donation to support Ski/Outside's important ski testing mission

I read this and thought you were making a tongue-in-cheek reference to Old Larry’s thread about “fucktard bizspeak “. Then I went to Peak’s website and was stunned that your response is word for word pulled from there.
