I should have been less cryptic. The boat is a replica of the SENECA CHIEF passing over the only place a road goes under the Erie Canal. The SENECA CHIEF was the first boat to run the length of the new canal in 1825. Doing a tour. It's in Brockport now. It'll be in ROC this weekend.

We all know the upper regions of the Upstates end at the Canadian border, and touch VT, Mass, CT to the east and Penn to the west but what of the southern divide in NY?!?!

This is where the civil war will be fought.

He does well as a Utica club ambassador, but the real problem facing the upstates is its definition on the southern border.

Everybody knows the (southern) border (demarking upstate from downstate New York) is the biggest issue facing our nation in this election!!!!

Not that I’m an advocate for the upstate’s extending past established state lines, but the route 4 line has a problem in that it only cover half of Rutland and only one of the 2 Stewarts in town. Growing up the rut, there was lots of upstate cross over. Back to school shopping and concerts in Glens Falls and the only decent radio station was PIX106, “kick ass rock and roll”.

Woah, there. Eliminating the Southern Tier eliminates Ellicottville, the Seneca Casino and loads of rez gas n weed and that just can’t stand.

Just take comfort in knowing Erie, PA exists to buffer the advancing hoardes from the entirety of the west.


ETA: just came across this. Apparently someone saw fit to make most of the Upstates part of the Midatlantic (likely Benny, who thought the NYC and DC Metros were one in the same) and the rest is just “Cleveland Midwest” which may not be wrong.

Ellicottville is its own little world. Kinda out of place in the upstates. go one Valley over in any direction and the real estate values plummet greatly, with a corresponding increase in strategic tarpitecture…

Well, there you go mr. west, rochester is part and parcel in the cleveland midwest… so, definitely not in the finger lakes region.
