Used to get lectured about that and I still don't know if it is true.

Got a bike ride in early, now 95 smoky/hazy and red flag warnings for high winds this afternoon. At least it is cooling to the high 50s low 60s at night. Cool down starts about 9.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

It’s more that your body doesn’t have to work harder because you’re not using energy to warm up the cold water.

Yea but if your body is trying to cool down does it still work harder to warm up that water or do you just dump the excess heat into it. I’d guess the later.

It doesn’t matter what the temperature is. Go dump 16oz of hot or cold water into 20 gallons of room temperature water and measure how much the temperature of the barrel changes.

I ride w ice water in my camel back a lot when it’s hot outside. I’ve never felt any kind of energy penalty. More important to me to get the core cooling effect. Even if it’s psychological

Anyone else make ghost pepper tea to stay both cool and hydrated?

Kind of overcast today. With a breeze it actually makes it bearable. Maybe my house won't be so hot tonight. Maybe I can even get some exercise today beyond walking the pup. Then it goes back to triple digits. Or near enough. Fuck me. Bring on La Niña!
    No longer stuck.

Driving there. Or driving anywhere. Transportation is way up there for carbon emissions. Fortunately after decades of oil shocks, oil wars, oil-fueled religious nutters, and climate warnings, Americans switched strongly toward bicycles and super-efficient sedans. Oh, wait. They went for SUVs and mega-trucks.

My locality did its part by banning plastic bags. /s

So you posted the first sentence. I saw that. But then you actually went and edited your comment telling me I should kill myself.

Christian, you are a piece of human garbage and I do wish nothing but horrible things for the rest of your miserable existence. When I do kill myself, I hope you think back on this conversation today and reevaluate yourself.

You’ve just proven to all of TGR who you really are.

Yeah, and it’s actually the second time he’s made this comment. I should’ve called it out the first time, but I can’t comment from the App, and didn’t circle back to do it. I can’t find the post now. But it’s really a bullshit thing from someone who claims to be a highly evolved expert on so many topics.
