This was south Eugene looking north across I5 and city lights. It was visible but faint with the naked eye, faint enough that you would have ignored it had it not been all over the news. But the phone captured the radiation so well.
Anyone go outside somewhere truly dark?

Looks like another light show tonight. Moonset is going to be an hour later so it will get better after midnight but it could still be somewhat visible after 10 pm. Last night it ramped up around 11 pm.

Was looking North here in Bend and didn't see anything. But that was just a bit after 10pm last night. Sis sent me a picture of from Kent, WA and it looked a lot like your pic, Schralph.

Bend mags, anyone got a line on a summer job for my niece? She's my BIL's daughter - he's been in the Czech Republic (now Czechia) since he finished college and my niece was born/raised there but has dual citizenship and an SSN. She just wrapped up her first year of college, speaks Czech, English, French and Japanese and is wicked smaht.

She'll be in Bend visiting my MIL/FIL for about six weeks from mid-July to end of August. She's been looking for work remotely but obviously six weeks isn't ideal from an employer's perspective and she hasn't found anything yet. If you know of anyone that has a short-term gig around that time, please LMK.

Ski! We were surprised how firm the snow was at 45*

The top 200-300' was glop, then it firmed up up. The bottom 500' was really wet. We left at 11:15

Damn, I posted We were going, but it didn't post yesterdat morning. Would of been fun to make a few runs with you ::: :::

I'm thinking if the current forecast holds up, temperature dropping to 30 to 40F range with the wind picking up a bit to ~20, then the skiing conditions will improve dramatically... fast hardpack groomers early then transition to some good corn that will hold up until noonish or later... hoping for the cooler weekend to ski Meadows to close out the season.

TGR tapatalk has required a 45 second pause between posting for a long time.

Left Dutchman’s at about 5:15 on bikes, started walking up S Sister from Devil’s lake around 6, topped out around 11:15, got back to the car around 4.

Snow was pretty soggy below tree line but nice and firm to the top on the way up, other than postholing on the crampons. S-SW aspect skied perfect up high. Got a little soggy as we turned more SE down low. Dropped in about an hour later than I hoped (was planning on leaving Dutchman’s at 4:15 and booting by 5).

Looks like cooler temps coming by Saturday.
