    It's the base area at Bachelor. The trail right of Red Chair. Just went up to mess around with the dog and Misses in the snow for a bit.

    Friendly reminder to get those snow tires installed. Went to my local Bend 3rd street Les Schwab Saturday and got the winter tires on for the wife and they were slammed.

    Does anyone know how low the snow line got the last few days? Coming down to polish some rocks, debating throwing the XC bike in the rig

    FWIW, I don’t do cone laps with less than 30” at the base. The two times I did it with 28” or less, I left with bad base damage.
    That said, looks like someone already did it

    Current forecast indicates Storm King will be at or below the snow line.

    Flavor of the day. Turns were made...gingerly. few scuffs, otherwise none the worse for wear. Worth the cardio, but not much more. Nice to touch fluff again.

    I can't wait for the new thread to talk about how I can't wait to see everyone, and then not see anyone all season.

    Are we going to correct for the mild La Nina or just fire up the wrong oscillation? Seems weirdly fitting for our vibes.

    Now is Oregon’s Turn

    A cold front will bring a rapid onset of accumulating snow above 4000 feet this afternoon and evening. Precipitation will be more showery today, increasing in intensity tonight into Friday. Highest accumulations will be above 5000 feet and in the Linn and Lane County Cascades. Winds too will become gusty from the south tonight which will increase chances for blowing snow and reduced visibility.

    * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches above 4000 feet and 10 to 17 inches above 5000 feet.

    * WHERE...In Oregon, North Oregon Cascades. In Washington, South Washington Cascades.

    * WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT Friday.

    * STOKE LEVEL…High across the Portland Metro Area

    I started and deleted the 2024-'25 Oregon winter season thread. Screwed up the dates on the thread title. Going to sit in the penalty box for a while. But here's one pic from an early afternoon Cone lap. If they get another 8" or so, it should be pretty safe up there. Just don't go balls to the wall with the carving.

    Pucci was fun yesterday after the temps dropped and the snow got packed up and fast. Early AM was manky and supper wet. It was fun to ski yesterday, but not new thread worthy.
