That move over law is a problem more often than not. I keep getting squeezed with no room to move left because of cars in that lane. The only solution at that point is to stand on the brakes or risk the ticket. It seems to me that instantly shedding 20 to 30mph is a bad idea...

Move over law is interesting. I'm totally down with the concept from a safety point of view. You bring up the interesting case where one can't move over. Shedding a lot of speed, including coming to a stop, does seem dangerous. Troopers getting run over during traffic stops also sucks. Probably need a follow on law to make it a class A felony to deny someone a merge (left). Or just stay off the Taconic.

Can't do that No, it holds for almost every major road in the state except for small sections of 3 laners where you at least have a better chance. I mean, I could just cruise in the left lane all the time lol. Speaking of the Taconic, I'd be lost without that road. I'm on it two or three times a week and other than an inordinate number of LEO's it's one of the best roads on the E Coast. Thankfully my POS dark grey minivan gets away with a lotta shit

You don't have to go too far west of Utica for it to look like Ohio.

Ohio has more State Troopers per highway mile than any other state (can't prove that, but just drive there and you'll agree), mayors' courts which allow every single town, village, city and burg to use their roadways as a cash register, and more 55mph highway zones than any other developed state. All of that leads to extremely slow drivers camped out in the left lane just ambling along, hoping not to get popped with a ticket and creating maddening traffic jams in areas where they have no right to exist.

    Fuck all of that shit.

    None.

Don't forget the no vehicle safety inspection thing. I always wonder if the car coming at me with Ohio plates can stop or if the car in front of me is going to have some heavy sharp parts fall off.

Anyone around Ellicotville this weekend? My wife has a booth at the craft fair in Franklinville and we're staying in E'ville a block from the brewery

Why do they all look like that? Could be Upstate, Ohio, Arkansas or Eastern WA. Bubbas are the same everywhere

Nice. So we found that our pictures came out a lot more interesting than what we were seeing with our eyes.
