Snirt- pile of snow and dirt... One thing about the dirt is it leaves a bit of insulation and protection from the sun and rain melting that slower than the cleaner snow.

Sure is a big trash bin (but not a can of course)- or recyclables collector receptacle.

Gore yesterday. The sun came out and everything softened up by late morning. No complaints.

We did get over to Burnt Ridge and it was good but Topridge was the trail of the day.

Oh yeah, I got my free NYS eclipse glasses at the new New Baltimore rest stop on the way home. Sounds more and more like it’s gonna be a total shit show.

I got to think this whole fucking thing is completely overhyped. Ain’t nobody ever wanted to come to this particular part of upstate before. Pretty sure all the fucking people that are going to be coming. If any people are going to be fucking coming will be going to wherever the fuck somebody’s charging him a shit load of fucking money.

That ain’t how it gonna be at Lock six…

    fact.

It must be really odd to upstaters that people are making a big deal to come up there on a particular day just to not see the sun.

This is what happened in BCS in 1991, and Wyoming in 2017. They predict the breakdown in society, people get scared and bail, and those that go have a great time.

Forecast looks great for upstate and Vermont!

I'm not too worried, figure I'll drive overnight to wherever it's not going to be cloudy and plant myself next to my cooler when I get there. As long as there's a place to piss I'm good.

Just changed: Open snow says noon 50% chance of clouds increasing to 86% by 6pm at McCauley. They are the only ones that aren’t saying sunny.

So is Josh right or are all the other apps right? I guess wunderground is hinting at something similar.

And for what it’s worth, Wyoming actually was an epic and total shitshow as reported to me by my attending lovely wife. I was not there. We will see if I am at this one. 50/50.

There are so many days of the year that the sun can't be seen and never comes out, will see if it is raining and cloudy or not at this point.

If you ever have the opportunity to tour the Kalik Brewery, you’ll start drinking Sands.

We are still planning to spend the night in Ithaca Sunday but I am starting to think that we will be heading towards the Adirondacks instead of Rochester early Monday morning.

Does anyone have suggestions for a place to view that would allow us to get to Rochester Monday night without a heinous drive? I will be with my wife and toddler, I've already done the remote and rad for the 2017 eclipse and am looking for a nice place to spend the day with the family. We have an invite to join a group near Saranac Lake but I have a feeling that is going to get rowdy.

Old Forge is having a day full of events. 3 1/2 hours or so to Rochester.

Anybody got some snow pics to share? For what it’s worth, the snow/rain line seemed to be right at GL’s proposed border. His wisdom may be undeniable at this point.

Pic upload broken. Otherwise I would be happy to show the time honored gas grill measuring device picture.
