I’ll never be there with skis or the skills so it would be cool to see these guys get up there. My satisfaction with this series has nothing to do with a tick list.

This is also the only ski content my wife will watch. “Want to watch a “Cody” over dinner?” she’ll say.
Same here. I’ve been waiting for the Robson ep since this started. Wondering how it’s going to go and the planning going in. I wasn’t a big fan of the article. Let the dude do his thing.

    I’d subscribe to that channel.

The GQ piece gets a lot less breathless as it goes on. I enjoyed this bit:

As he recalled, “I remember meeting her and she’s like, ‘Yeah, I live in Tahoe.’ I’m like, ‘No, you don’t. I know every hot girl in Tahoe.’ ” After the show, it was Saugstad who called Townsend to go skiing.

Many of us have said from the beginning that Robson is probably the least likely. It’s been skied once, maybe twice.

I feel like from a logistical perspective, at least you can drive to Robson (mostly). Cody could conceivably stay nearby in the late winter or spring and wait for optimal conditions.

Mt St Elias and University Peak on the other hand…

I really liked Cody’s response to the article. Good points from someone who knows the dangers better than anyone here with a sprinkle of clickbait. Personally I read the article more of a cautionary message to Cody rather than don’t do it. Of course, cautionary messages make for horrible clickbait so the article had to be sensationalized.

The rules are the rules. The trick is not bending them. He's got all the time in his life. I'm not worried.

Twice: Troy and Ptor in 1995 and Dylan Cunningham in 2017

There's no such thing as bad publicity. I imagine Cody's sponsors are happy to see those articles out there.

I know the author a little bit, but I can say isn't "chasing relevance and clicks." He's one of the better writers in the outdoor sports world and has no social media presence to speak of. He doesn't need to write a controversial article for attention.

I heard Cody and Elyse have a new turd-farming venture where they use baby’s poop to supercharge the growth of their new Super Soylent Green food-tritional product. This is the big drop that will lead in to Super Pooper Tuesday next week.
