So I see we are going the "full reset" route?
In other news El Nino continues to show signs of dying. I will remain optimistic that we will be cold enough to have incoming moisture as snow.

It seems like the end of January is always kinda shitty. February won't let us down. Plus we've got 29 days this year.
I remember when they would ski pack Nertz, Lemolo etc early season because of the basal facets

Ski patrol philosophy probably hasn’t changed too much since you’ve been skiing there I imagine. . Here is a video that Elisa made for Todd’s channel. Please remember to like and subscribe….
Skied Stevens this afternoon. A little too damp to be full-on corn, but getting close. Some thin spots showing but groomer coverage was better than I would have expected after the rain event.
Off trail is going to need a major refresh before it’s more than survival skiing. Lots of avy debris and slides on steeper aspects. The one that had Tye Mill closed until today was gnarly.

In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...
Jupiter opened today and Aquarius face also slid big. The crown looked to be 2+ feet deep and 50+ yards wide (eying it from the chair). Storm slab slides on that convex face are somewhat common but it looked like half the snow pack released. Scary.
(didn't have a phone/camera on me)
Checking in on this complaint thread...
Sounds like better-than-expected conditions in the higher backcountry up around here yesterday and Saturday. I am a little disappointed I didn't ski! But the biking was very nice.
Check out Lee's post on the NWAC instagram
There was a narrow band of great skiing over the weekend. I got 500' of better-than-expected turns between 5300' and 4800'. The key is to set expectations low and be satisfied with what we get.
Important question: If we get a change in the weather regime and start building a real base and get a return to pow conditions is it time to start the "Pow farming in 24/25" thread?![]()
Skied great smooth crust with 3” of rime well bonded above 6000’ Friday. The snow pack above 4500’ faired well through the warm up on the east slopes

Baker has less base than Snoqualmie and Crystal tickets are the cheapest (this week). We're living in bizarro world.
Blewett pass checking in.

Paste on pavement, as Summit put it today. Love the honesty.
Dust on crust at Stevens today.

Damn - well done!
8-10” of hot pow around Stevens yesterday then met up with the kids for some surprisingly good inbounds laps.
Woke up to 2” this morning and it’s still snowing.
Nice, Kam. That's such a damn pretty place to ski.
Great pics
