Yeah, met a 43yr old guy who used to race xc and is now on an ebike. He has a family and with limited time, so it's perfect for him to rip a couple laps. Low vert trail riding is so different than big vert riding. Much less of an issue to rip a quick ride in a low vert area.

They really add fun to the low vert trail riding. Flat stuff now seems like it has a slight down to it. They can get rid of a lot of the boring sections

My Levo motor crapped out today. Sounds/feels like it’s the belt.
I’m about four months out of warranty, so hoping the shop can do a belt replacement.

The entire bike culture that has developed on Teton Pass exists as it does today thanks to these individuals, and many, many volunteer days as Teton Freedom Riders.
The same is true for most of what we ride in Teton Valley (besides the Big Hole’s, which are all legal anyway). Every dude that helped build Horseshoe, Targhee, Mike Harris Area, etc, are riding e-bikes now, and support them.
I do think that there should be some non-ebike places (Cache area, Horseshoe area), but there is something to the fact that individuals that had the vision and fortitude to create an entire thing here also see e-bikes as a valid part of the mix.
Commented as well....FYI, Today is the deadline for Public Comment. Fingers crossed the FS can see the light and enter the modern day of acceptance. Self Shuttled laps via Old Pass Rd would be sweet....

LOL, that was me. Wife’s motor went out 2 weeks after warranty this summer and they replaced it. Shop guy said he’d try again.

ya that ^^ is pretty cheap (relatively speaking) and a nice spec

my Bullit is more than 1000 off on the mrsp and probably another 1000 off on the sale price so 2-2500 off the crazy days of 2020

Eagle CO wants to ban ebikes from any non-paved surface, have ebikes follow motor vehicle rules, and further force ebikers to dismount in town where amish bikers would not have to.

Class 3’s must wear helmets, regardless of age, While motorcycles don’t.

Must stop at all intersections and crosswalks.

Police chief can ban use, without notice.

Seems like they’re opening themselves up to a lot of lawsuits.

yeah buddy the cop made some pretty broad strokes when he wrote that, you pretty much have to do that to anyone on 2 wheels, I doubt it will fly

but does eagle really have a problem ?

E-bike industry in the USA wrote the 3 class system, but hasn't put any effort into enforcement or easements with a nonmotorized stipulation. If you want random rules and enforcement, let it pop up like what you see in Eagle. If you want it to be smart, the industry and users are going to have to propose and fund realistic enforcement and possibly legal research into easements.

The classes never made sense when thinking about paved and unpaved use cases. Most ebike users who cause conflict are doing it on municipal multi use paths (paved or not), where throttle to 20 MPH is way way too much.

Like it or not there will be more ebikes. Not only recreationalists but theyll be tge family mini van and the company delivery vehicle. Theres a reason, more than the fun factor, that major motor vdhicle companies are rapidly developing an ebike wing of the company. VW is keen. Theyve revelutionized the commoners transportation mode before. I dont think it was the transportation industry that set standards to this point. Gov'ts and communities would be well served to dial in their infastructure for the future, and the rules that will needto go with that future

Are you sure that class 123 thing didn't come from euro land, the pedelec thing ?

It started in the EU but the cutoffs are at lower speed and power. Basically the same but the software I believe. The big difference, at least I'm sure of in the UK, they will straight up test, confiscate, and possibly destroy a bike that is hacked or designed above the power and speed thresholds. So there is a much different incentive not to stand out or cause conflict on shared infrastructure. New infrastructure is a no-brainer, it should be designed to accommodate Class 3 bikes and below. Existing easements on private land have specific language for each one, were negotiated in different time periods, and are not under the direct control of municipalities or counties. Any place these exist, e-bikers should expect not to be allowed unless they put in the work to renegotiate the easements. If it's up to the government, the easy answer will be "no" and if the paths or trails cross jurisdictions, the area of "no" will expand.

Specialized is replacing motor under warranty. Shop guy was like “sorry it might not be ready for another week or two”. I was like “where can I send the beers?”

Turbo Levos are on sale right now too. My buddy just got a Carbon Levo, with two batteries (500/700) for $5k.

Good deals on YT Decoys too; I have one and love it.

Great deal. We have decoys, and the bikes rip.

Our only complaint is that the yt postman dropper sucks. That and my fox 38 needed a tune and alignment right out of the box.

Somehow my tellis dropper survived until about 2 months ago. Not bad for a 2019 but its had twisting play in it for atleast 3 yrs and a lot of play and loud creaks the last 2 years. Ive been thinking it would die for quite a while now. Bought a inexpensive brand x post and a wolftooth lever. Wolftooth lever is an awesome little thing in its function.. post is ok so far
Thats too bad about your fork. Hopefully that wasn't too spendy. Had my 38 , off my enduro bike , on my decoy for a while. Nice fork. I ended up selling it w my enduro bike and i just stuck my 180mm yari back on the decoy. It works

What does it mean when a fork needs alignment?

Im not sure, i was thinking bushing alignment. I wouldnt be surprised if yt paid the bill. They did for my motor diagnosis when it died. "Just have the lbs of your choice diagnose it and we'll pay them". Lbs were morons and screwed up a simple diagnosis and they still paid them. I figured it out, tourque sensor failure, and took the bike to kelowna and met the rep. He agreed and told yt usa. They fast tracked me a new motor with a prepaid postage box to return my dead motor. Much quicker and easier than the lbs. I think i had the motor in 2 days. Zero charge
