Your alpine length will keep jacking you too far rearward and throw you off balance. Seeing folks with giant poles and a lazy back foot flailing around behind them kills me and gives us all a bad rep.
Oh just wait a few weeks and you'll be seeing that at Smuggs from me... maybe

I tried out the piano stool advice today and it definitely helped to weight the back ski better. Sure does burn the legs, but that really helped. Thanks all

Yeah, consider that tele boots are all cabrio boots and there’s really no point in locking the cuff.

Put your hammerheads on 2 or 3. 4 is overly constraining imo. It should feel like you’re smashing a bug with the ball of your foot on the trailing ski.

One of the reasons I like NTN is that the boot sole on Scarpa boots has a nicer forefoot flex than most 75 mm boots

There's the gun! There off, racing to dump their archaic gear, bedazzled by the latest unproven bauble ...... what? NTN isn't knew and unproven?!?!? Well, it is to me, and I know it all!

Seriously, Once the OP gets the weighing and stance issues minimally under control, perhaps a gear upgrade is in order, depending on long term objectives, most common snow conditions.

I'm happy with the setup I have at the moment, it certainly isn't the gear at fault here. The fact I have less than $200 into everything is helpful too haha. I think the red 3 buckle T1s I'm on are the same model year as I am, but they're still kicking.

I switched back to stiffer boots today and felt better getting into a lower stance. Skiing is funClick image for larger version.

So. One thing we lost with ttips, besides Mitch, was quite a bit of knowledge. Cooking with Big Tim. Mount point info. DIY fishscales (Baahb and his half moon pattern from a spade bit with the point broken off). Etc.

I have a pair of Tua cross ride 110s that I got way back when for free (iirc) off the tele turnaround . They are drilled for hammerheads for a smaller foot than mine. They're also on the shorter side for me. I want them for goofing around and meadow skipping with 3-pin cables. Do I mount them boot sole center? I'm really an XCD skier, can't tele to save my life so I free heel parallel.

    Red 3 buckle T1s = T2s, probably the T2x, NTTAWWT
The T2X was my favorite 75 mm boot ...... 15 years ago. Some of my best BC days, some of my worst (no fault of the boot - entirely user error, compounded by age).

No knowledge of XCD mount points but for “modern” telemark mounts go boot center on the recommended line unless you know you want to be fore/aft on a specific ski. If mounting 75mm, measure the bsl from pin line to heel. For 22 Designs mounts I take half that measurement and place the pin line on the template that distance from the line.

old school XCD would be pins on chord center - maybe a cm or two forward if you’ve got big fkn feet

Which is worse, leather boots or leather skin?
This is why Dog invented lycra/spandex.
