I don't remember coming out but I used the ankle leash thru the heel thro just in case

I seem to remember using 7TM at about the same setting ( 7 or 8 DIN ) as i would use for an alpine or tech binding, to get out I just kicked one boot with the other and walked around with the plates on the boot till i stepped in again very handy

my guess is that a short BSL has saved me from many release issues/ problems

there must be a blurb somewhere about the effects of BSL on binding release ??

also I only weigh 165

Would love and encourage a “comeback.” I worked in the industry during the few short years that saw the release of the riva z, targa, linken, hardwire, armond’s bindings, 7tm, bd bindings, bd boots, skyhoy, chili bindings, Fischer boundless skis, and several 4 buckle scarpa and garmont boots, and the lawn chairs. Would love to see that type of thing happen again.

Would also love to hear blister or freeheel life interview of Rod Johnson. He was core in development of the chouinard 3 pin binding, chouinard cable binding, all versions of the riva binding, trp plates, ntn binding, and some nnn bindings. Also, the climbing harness (he’s Rod “The Bod”) and part of the development for the BD ice screws. I’m sure there’s plenty of other gear items he’s developed that have gone into production, but that’s all I remember.

Well I never would have guessed leashes would unleash so many responses. I also thought the telecrew would say Ya dood leashes are unnecessary.
I did leave my poles in the rack for a few hours and that felt really good.
How am I supposed to release outlaw bindings without a pole? I just asked to borrow one.

Ho man Armond's bindings! That guy was hoot biking with up in Nelson. I remember he had just skied some crazy line on Rainier when I met him. Never knew where his name came from for the harness. It was quite ubiquitous and chunky

Skins, yes. I ski NTN inbounds and slackcountry between 60-80 days per season. I strongly prefer having a free heel for making resort pow turns, side stepping and traversing. It’s just more comfortable and easier on the body. Not to mention all the hot soccer moms who experience the deep wonder and mystique of what it might take to be a telemark skier.

I take the AT rig out for an occasional spin around the resort on groomer days and use it for longer touring days. The AT gear usually sees about 10 days per season.

Alpine skiing is downright boring. Telemark skiing is challenging and exciting.

Recent NTN convert w/brakes. Outlaws & new TX Pros, worst case scenario for difficulty. I lubed the slide wires and the main die spring per the manual and it became 358% easier to snap in and snap out. I feel like it now functions as intended (so easy). They clearly ship dry. It's so nice to have step-in again. I didn't love heel throws and leashes. I would be okay with leashes for touring but brakes on the daily is a user-friendly amenity which adds quality to my guest experience.

Figured I'd chime I'm here after lurking on this thread for a while. I'm a OutlawX/ leashes guy. Personally thought stepping in was way more fiddly with the brakes installed, and if you're making tele turns all day, bending over to clip leashes to my boots seems like a minor effort. Bluebird Day leashes= no need to remove gloves. And as far as releasing the Outlaws without using a pole...I don't think I've ever used one! I reach down and push a thumb down on the tab while lifting up on the duckbutt.

Yesterday I went for a tour on my T2s and I started day dreaming about buying a pair of TX Pros and putting the T2 cuffs on them to recreate the original TX to use with Lynx or Meidjo. Is it really that simple? Surely someones done that mod of it is. Don't T2's have more ROM of the TX Pro because of the different cuff?

Chicken Feathers, it seems the standard mod is to put a Maestrale cuff on the TX Pro scaffo since that buys you more ROM and there are more floating around. I'll be attempting that as soon as I snag pair #2 of TX pros as I've got all the other parts to make it happen. Thanks, I've been aware of that mod for a few years. I've got a pair of 2nd gen Maestrales. I can't imagine that the Maestrale cuff would feel that great on a soft tele boot scaffo. Increased ROM is huge as is a weight savings, but feel beats out all that to me. Hence my thought yesterday to just put the T2 cuff on it. Anyways I'm a ways out from trying this one as I don't have either TX Pros or an NTN tech binding.

Once I got AT gear I replaced my TRaces and Axl's with T2's and 3 pin cables. The guy at the shop said its people like me who are killing telemark
