So when the neighbors park their unregistered, broken eyesore of a vehicle in front of your house and leave it there to rot for you maneuver around and look at for a year, you’re cool with that? Because there is no actual safety or health risk.

I’m not saying I would like it, but yeah, I’m not calling the cops on people for doing it. If I knew them, I’d ask them to move it before I did anything.

In PDX you can report abandoned vehicles for a tow online. They show up a couple days later and pick it up. Don’t know how it works in Sandy these days.

The street view pictures look rough, but the current picture doesn't look too bad IMO. the rat thing sucks though.

FWIW, I had a similar situation when I lived in Sandy, house had been under construction for years, shitty vehicles, but not much trash or anything. Code enforcement would come by occasionally. I eventually learned my neighbor had been involved in a police brutality lawsuit. Something to the effect of them beating him up on his own property, not DV related or anything. So yeah, I'm gonna side with Supermoon on this one. Don't call the cops.

Some of y'all act like by calling the cops I'm inviting them over to shoot him in the middle of the face. All the cops are going to do is remind him that he needs to move that pile of shit, probably with just a warning. Think of it as a shot across the bow. As for "helping," I've done that. For 15 years. Every time we take a trip to the dump, I offer up our unused space in the truck and trailer. He uses it as an excuse to fill up the newly cleaned space with more trash. I feel fortunate that I'm not sharing a fenceline with him. Can you imagine sending your kids into your own back yard wondering if they're going to be bitten by some of the vermin he's invited in, or poisoned by some of the leftover chemicals in the multiple drums of whatever the fuck he brings back from the farm? For those of you who just say "let it be," I pity you. You guys must live in some serious shit holes. Enjoy your body lice. The rest of us will be over here acting like grown ass adults.

Hey Chelsea, I know you want to speak to the manager, but not everything in life that is offensive to you can be solved be "the authorities". Knock on the front door, explain position, and take what comes your way.

Calling the cops is a choice. How your neighbor responds is also a choice. Be careful what you wish for.

Well, I was basing my decision off the picture that you posted of the current situation. Doesn't matter what street view looks like to the cops. Hell, it doesn't really matter what it looks like inside the fence.

Yes, I know that street parking is technically illegal in Sandy during the winter months, but I'd find something more important to worry about than a beater Jeep parked in the road.

It sounds like he's done that, to no avail. Reasonable people don't normally live like this, and unreasonable people can't be reasoned with.

What exactly do you think he's wishing for here? For the yard to be cleaned up? How the neighbor responds is absolutely his choice, and TS owns none of the responsibility for it.

No, I think you know that the SWAT team is on standby, right now, waiting for you to call. And when you do, they are going to kick the door in at 3am and shoot grandma, who happens to be in a wheelchair, right in the face. And the blood is on your hands.

You say this like a joke, but it’s a very common way for people to die in America. Odds are not zero that they kick in the wrong door, too.

I’m with you all when you say that it’s an eyesore and annoying to live around. I just don’t think it’s a cops situation.

Having annoying neighbors is a fact of life.

Sig worthy and describes my nightmare neighbors to a T. 2 large cranes, 3-4 trailers, 4-5 cars and trucks and the menagerie, 3 steers, 4-5 mini-goat, chickens (at least he got rid of the rooster) and 3 Labradoodles that bark at anything and everything, 4 outbuildings and a 5th wheel and last but not least a fucking 1/2 pipe that echos like a giant bass drum when the kids are sessioning.

But I can't see it except when I drive past and we have little to no zoning so he is basically sort of legal. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the time he put 2, 9mm fmj rounds through the neighbors dog cause it barked at him. Fortunately neither round hit anything vital so the dog was ventilated but otherwise OK.

Then there is neighbor farther down the street who decided to put an RV dump station in his back yard with no permitting that was 38 feet away from his neighbors well.

Then there is the compound at the far north end that has at least 10 people living in different shacks that lack running water or toilets. At least the cops did come and bust the meth dealers. Or the house in between 1 & 2 that is a 2 Bdr 2 ba 1000 sq ft home with 10 people living there.

Neighbors suck, but my immediate neighbors are excellent and that is what counts.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Do you have numbers that show just how prevalent this is? And the SWAT team isn't kicking in any doors over this, that was a joke. I think you need to step away from the Huff Post for awhile.

But in Utah it is. That's who tows illegal cars.

I don't think the average cop is frothing at the mouth to shoot someone over a towed car. But if a tattooed face tweaker comes out shirtless, screaming and swinging a monkey wrench at people, it would probably end badly.

Lots of evidence on dangers of police raids. SWAT was used like 2/3 of the time to just execute search warrants.

Not to mention the racial disparity in outcomes.

TS said the Jeep is a teenager’s and doesn’t want to tow it, so what would the cops do other than escalate a situation?

Anyway, no reason to keep arguing the point.

Nailed it. We are outside city limits and zoning is the devil.

Ha. Interesting. A few years ago we reported a car abandoned on our block and it was gone in less than a week. I was fully expecting it to take weeks or months. Maybe someone just stole it

I'm not saying don't call the cops. I'm not saying laws are not broken. I'm just saying that you don't get to chose the end game. You have your opinion. The neighbor has his.

Do what you chose. Just don't think you are standing on some moral high ground.

Ps authorities are called over 240 MILLION times a year, and that is just 911. I’ll let Supermoon do the math on how often it results in a SWAT raid, let alone a death.

OP needs to get over a teenagers Jeep annoying him but none the less, calling the cops to get a car towed is not going to result in a death. This is just absurd.

I love how 75% of you fucktards are too stupid to read the original or subsequent posts. This has nothing to do with the Jeep. I have a Wrangler. I like his Wrangler, I like his Power Wagon, fuck, I really like the beat ass Park Avenue. It's come to this because code enforcement won't do shit and I'm tired of living next to a superfund site.

You all are going about this the boring way. Think outside the box. Create burner email via VPN, post on Craigslist or KSL or whatever works in your hood, and list all the shit in the neighbor's yard for free.

Your neighbors are douches. I would write a letter / email to the city and see what they think and ask for an assist. Guy looks like a hoarder. When I pass that show while channel surfing I can't stop and look and cringe at the amount of shit these people have and their attachment to it. Oh look, a pinwheel fan, you never know when you may need that, I need to hold onto that and the last 15 years of daily newspapers. Crazy.

I have a dog. When my dog barks at people walking, UPS / amazon driver, I tell him to STFU. My neighbor, beagle...She lets it outside, lets it bark all the time. Finally see neighbor outside - tell her that her dog has been barking all damn day. Dog sits at her door incessantly barking to be let. She says I know (she's fat).....I tell her she is super rude and inconsiderate and I will call animal control and have her dog labeled as a nuisance dog (I had to look up the local code). Ask neighbor across from me to adjust his outdoor lights as they are blasting my house at night - super annoying. He says they are rusted. I think he is some type of geriatric who can't get up a step ladder - he is some 35 year old douche. Unreal. People are rude as fuck. Americans are way too self-centered. I watched Bushradical on YouTube the other day. I can say I certainly enjoyed the simplicity of his life - I need to get some acreage and build me a shack.
