Kryigos gave it his all in a 5 set loss (I think the first did him in and he couldn’t catch up the rest of the way). This morning’s headline was telling of how he felt when it was all over.

Yeah, Kyrgios never fails to deliver in one way or another. One clip shows Kachenov raising his arms and receiving crowd applause and a smashed racket bounces over the net. Worst met down I’ve ever seen on court. Puts McEnroe’s antics in the shade.

I just randomly watched that match last night. Absolutely amazing that anyone can cheer for that douche. The NYC crowd seemed to being cheering for that man baby.

It's wild, like he has a group of imaginary friends on the court with him who he's chattering with and yelling at the entire match. Entertaining, but beyond obnoxious.

Mac and Kyrgios are cut from the same cloth. Both have exquisite games, with an intelligent and artful mix of finesse and power, but both are spoiled brat nutjobs. Spare the rod, etc.

Of course Mac has been dining out on that BS for forty+ years, just as Kyrgios is now, on steroids with social media. Entertaining? If that's what you like.

All that said the level of tennis with the current players is absolutely amazing.

No. At best its kinda gross and offensive to everyone sitting around them, certainly those downwind.

At worst it's gross and tacky and a distraction to everyone around them and I'd wager dollars to donuts that this is some sort of attempt to get attention from an influencer barber.

Go cut hair in the subway if you want a big crowd and attention.

Yup. Tiafoe/Alcaraz could be epic - hope so!

It's been a long ride for the Big 3, but it really could be coming to an end. I suspect Fed'll hang it up after Basel. Who knows about Dchoker and Rafa, but these young guys are finally upping their game. It won't be easy for the oldsters if they do try and continue.

I generally lean toward never saying never, but I suspect we'll never see another list like this...

People can be messy with the peanut shells and husks in the stands too. I'm definitely guilty of that.

No, not a young un. Began playing open tournament tennis in 1962. I watched the match you reference. I was embarrassed for John. Maybe the best hands ever in the game. Still thought Kyrgios was worse in his performance last night. Seemed unhinged.
