I don't know why this popped up in my FB feed, but perhaps someone here is near NYC and could use cheap tickets - - perhaps Benny?

I wouldn't go to that even if someone *paid* me $20.

I see his Twitter stuff reposted sometimes. He’s basically Tucker Carlson, but I think he usually keeps it out of Dilbert?

Went to the coin op car wash today to wash the moto. Change machine there was broken. At the laundromat around the corner one change machine was broken and the other wouldn't take my only $5 bill. Not putting a $20 in it. Went to the 7-11 across the street. They wouldn't give me change unless I bought something. Bought cheapest item I could find so I'd get 3-4 $1s for the car wash. This was all they could give me for change. Of course neither the coin or $2 bill works at the car wash. $2 is supposedly good luck, so I'll keep it.

Two dollar bill? Strip club. Duh.

Dollar coin? If it’s from the strip club you might want to disinfect it.

There are still coin op car washes? They haven't all gone to using your choice of cards or bills?

Lots of them where I live. This one takes cards, coins or $bills. But if you use a card they bill $5 which gives you twice as much time as I needed, also why I didn't want to feed my $5 bill in there. This one starts with a set time purchased and you have to add quarters or bills for more time.

Would be much nicer if you put your card in and then it charges you for actual time used.

Orthodontist-level Ibis Ripmo on local Craigslist - "never ridden out of driveway." Merely $11K.

I'm always amused by seeds when they sprout. Like, these tiny-ass seeds just sit there, sometimes for years, doing nothing. Then one day, I stick 'em in some dirt and add water and a little plant appears. It'll grow and become this massive thing, and some of them come back every year, forever. It's crazy! To me it's the closest thing to real magic that I can think of. Other than magnets, of course.

I just realized a few years ago that trees that live a really long time, like Sequoia’s, only need one seed to germinate and survive during it’s life to maintain the population. One new tree over a 1000+ years. Crazy!

Even more amusing is the sheer VOLUME of seeds. Open up a poppy some time... fuckin' THOUSANDS of seeds. In a single plant.

    Hmm, bagels!

In 1879 a scientist at Michigan State University filled 20 bottles with different seeds and buried them, and one bottle is dug out and opened every 10 or 20 years to find out how many seeds sprout:

    Really interesting.

    Seems cruel to the seeds.
