For crop loss due to heat? Only the US Government touches MPCI (multi-peril crop insurance) as far as I know. Equipment, crop hail losses, bpp, buildings, sure, but not crops.

That’s nuts that you will go from a high of 75 to 100+ sustained for days.

Yup, I would have a hard time living with that. Thankfully we have had it pretty good so far, but September is coming.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Might break 90 for a couple hours a day before rapidly cooling down to the low 70s / high 60s? Vibes…

Not sure where you are at Jimmy but I was talking to a friend last week how good the corn was in UT compared to CA in April and he said he hated Spring skiing. I told him he wouldn't if he had ever skied great corn.

This was at Wachusett in MA. Moved from corn to slush by midday in some parts though

Dam near 60 in the cascade foothills. Tulips are sprouting and my honeysuckles and hydrangeas have budded.

I am not so worried about me, it is my children's, children's, children I worry about. They may well be truly fucked in a world we would never recognize.

We broke a record on Thursday - 67 degrees. Today we barely broke freezing,

This record from last summer's heat dome was officially confirmed last week:

Was that accompanied by thick smoke from the fires? That’s what I remember. Not hot like up your way but over 100 and could not see more than a few hundred yards
