I actually like the light grey interior even better on the OR edition.

Those orange accents are a little garish to my eye. The tan/burl and in the Audi is pure class.

I don't have the foocus so much on the snazzy interior.
I just want a decent, reliable, larger wagon with minimal bullshit.

Yes, I have to give up the manual dammit.

It's the old allroad. Color of the seats gives it away right?

Here’s a little wagen (volks) anti-stoke; my ‘91 Golf. Worst service record of any car I’ve owned. That experience pretty well knocked VW/Audi off my would ever give a 2nd opportunity to fuck me again list.

Clearly a lot of VW/Audi fans around here, so the old YMMV adage seems to apply.

Plus, our 06 V70R with the turning radius of a battleship is not particularly cherished by my wife. It's a great road car, but parking lots are a chore.

Maybe we should drive a V90, but that will require withdrawals from the cajoling account.

I don’t disagree. The new A6 Allroad is about as sharp as a car can look these days.

That Ocean Race Volvo in that Crystal White with the grey cladding and orange accents is just cool though. Extra so if you got the matching box.

Next time I see him shuttling his ladies around town I’ll have to thank him for his service.

Thanks to you, to this day I know the way to find the Christmas Thread, all I have to do is search “Bumpuses”

    With 197k? Yikes.
AWD is required of our sleds, as is a warranty for the next one.

    So, thanks, but no.

Front runners for the next purchase include the A6 allroad, maybe the MB E450 AT and evidently the Porsche Macan, although some of us are repulsed by the very notion of an SUV.

Bobby Stainless has many nice things to say about the Macan, and I've enjoyed them each time I got one as a loaner.

That said, they don't feel particularly SUVish, more sports car with a lift. Space is lacking in my opinion.

Last year for gasser coming up too so maybe deals to be had?

One member of the team is stressing the need for more backseat legroom. So we have to go see a Macan, but I've had my doubts regarding that combination.
I'm still thinking the A6 allroad is the ticket, but there seems to be a nationwide paucity thereof.

As I said upthread, sharp car and likely my next purchase once I kill my a4 allroad (hopefully many, many years down the road).

Quick search using cars.com shows 3 new and a few CPO in the metro Atlanta area.

This one is particularly good looking.

There's 1, a white one, in the greater Seattle area.

Best deal I'd found is near Denver at the source of 2 of our other cars, but it got snapped up.

We're going to go see the local one to test the sizing.

But we're all about the silver. Black is always in style, but when in sun, for family, form follows function

    ^^^ Ouch! $71K?

Just returned the 2018 330i Wagon. Down to the 2001 325ix wagon. Will see how it performs this winter.

Macan is just about the best cute Ute out there to make you forget about wagons. Jetta wagon size and monster power with AWD. Want something bigger? Get a twin turbo Explorer.

Or stick with Volvo because they are pretty much all that is left.

I want something to tow a small Air Stream down the road. Thinking 2016 Cayenne S with 420hp and bigger back seating than the Macan. Can be had for $40k and is a hoot to drive.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Looks like the vote here is for the Macan. We drove the A6 allroad, was like, OK, that's nice, but all the new gadgets and interfaces are weird. Acceleration wasn't that great, squooshier suspension than we like.
The Macan was nicer with acceptable back seat legroom. The JD Powers ratings are a big boost.

We would have done another Volvo, but I don't trust the 4 cylinder putting out 315 hp.

Now where can I find a Macan S at a good price?

Our BMW Indie goes to the auctions to buy cars here and there. You know anyone that does that?
