YMMV, but Stan’s race is supposed to be used only for a short period of time and removed after the race.

    Ask the experts

The quality of the rim tape job has a larger affect on how well the tire seals and keeps air than the sealant. Most sealants will seal a simple puncture but not a tear or rim bite. Most tubeless blues are from a dirty / shitty tape job causing a slow leak through a spoke or valve hole...

    For me at least....

I have a new gravel bike and I already fucked it up. It has a GRX 600 brake/shifting system. On the left (non-shifting side) there is a plastic part under the brake lever that has one screw holding it on, I think it is this, the "unit cover," which when installed, also holds another little plastic piece that is otherwise not attached.

Anyways, this took a hit somehow and broke the tab with the screw, so it is just sort of loosely held on by the bracket cover and it is driving me insane.

Can anyone help me figure out the model number of this piece? It looks a lot like this:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-105....c101195.m1851

    Thanks!

Opinions on Pike Ultimate RC2 vs Fox 34 Grip2. Travel will be set at 150mm. Given the travel, I'm leaning towards the Pike, but wondering if the stiffness has improved on the 34. I wouldn't mind trying a Manitou, Marzocchi, or DVO, but the RS and Fox are what I have available.

Hey, any of you guys ever run sintered pads with Magura MT7's? Rotors are centerlines and Fedex might actually deliver the bike today or tomorrow. Smokan gave me layaway lol.
Anyway, I really like how resistant sintered pads are to contamination, glazing, and just plain evaporating. Any feedback for when I need new pads?
    No longer stuck.

The 34 is the model Fox decided not to update last year. It isn't even list as a model on their website so I assume it's either being updated or on the way out. Anything available now is old tech.
There is no reason not to go up to the 36 instead. If 36 is not avail, I'd go Pike.

Yeah, I think the only update in 2021 for the 34 was the option of the Grip2 damper. They do have some info on their website: https://www.ridefox.com/family.php?m=bike&family=34s
It will be interesting to see what changes they make for 2022.

In the past, lots of companies released new products at Sea Otter, which was usually the second week in April. While Sea Otter has been moved to the fall this year, I'd bet there's a good chance that new products will still be released in the early April time frame.

    What is Race sealant?

Race Sealant is the race-day variation of our popular sealant. While Race Sealant uses the same liquid base as our regular sealant it contains twice the particulate mix as well as a special XL crystal that isn’t used in the standard formulation. These additions allow the sealant to seal larger punctures and keep you racing. As it is made for race-day use it does require more maintenance: Race Sealant should be inspected more often than standard sealant, approximately every 2-3 weeks. It also cannot be injected through the valve; you must break the bead and pour the sealant directly into the tire.

Do all the new specialized frames use same headset? Looking for measurement to purchase for new epic evo frame, website suprisingly bare of info, but maybe I suck at webs
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

I went through a bunch of headset related headaches with my Enduro. Any specialized dealer should be able to pull up the exact specs for the headset. If it's the same as the enduro, it'll be 41.8mm x 30.5 x 8mm, 45x45° Campagnolo Standard compatible upper bearing and 52mm x 40 x 7mm, 45x45° lower bearing. For me, it was the upper bearing that was tough to come by - that's a somewhat odd size.

Huh. I’ve been checking more like every 2-3 months like a putz. Haven’t got myself in trouble yet, but that could be dumb luck.

My van came with run-flats, no spare. When I needed to replace them I went with regular tires, and still no spare. I guess I like to live dangerously both on and off the bike.

Just to confirm the weirdness, I guess these new frames use a deeper bore somewhere? As such CK was selling dropset 2 for them and finding out they didn’t work and needed spacers. They just released the dropset 5 specifically for the new age specialized frames. Weird

If memory serves, the upper bearing is abnormally deep. I don't think CK had come out with an appropriate bearing when I was on my quest, but that'd be awesome if they have one now. The FSA that came stock in mine was kinda junk.

Yup. The dropset5 is what you seek. Avt has them

Nice. I'll grab one of those when my current bearings shit the bed again. Probably during spring mid season.
