This is pretty much true from anyone in a state that does not have a border with NYS.

Nice blog post too. When I opened it and saw the first pic I was like wait a minute and I checked the address bar to see what website I was in.

What are those large mounds in the middle of the run? Are they piles of moguls from the summer that they haven’t installed yet?

Another check in the "con" column for snowboarding. If you can't handle a 500' low angle section in the middle of a run during an Upstate snowstorm, you're gonna have a bad time.

With all the recent advances in Sledtec, Everybody’s upgraded to the latest greatest whatever the fuck the corporations are offering. That has left a shit load of hot rod sleds from before the upgrade revolution. You can pick up one of those things in very good condition for almost nothing.... That leads to the availability of a lot of slightly older hot rod beaters running around for dirt cheap.

Ain’t no license is required for a sled.

In VT you need a DL if you are 16 or older and want to cross or travel a legal road. Not sure if that includes class 4 roads and I don't care to look it up.

In Michigan all you need is a cold sixer of Molson under the seat and you're good to brap.

Some years ago, I went sledding in Yellowstone Park. You could rent a sled at the South gate and brap the loop. I left a half eaten sandwich in the back compartment of the parked sled while I took in Old Faithful. Upon returning to my sled the crows and a coyote had ripped the entire seat to shreds. Lesson learned.

Is it still too early to try the Cleveland to Point Pelee run?

I think it's a good law. If you drive a motorized vehicle across or on a public right of way, you should have a DL.

Sweet. I'll testify that there's snow under them mounds then. Plus there was all sorts of closed stuff being poached last Thurs, so I'd take those signs as a suggestion.

Plus, Bunny's forecasting skills appear to have let him down. That's a foot all day long (my wife can confirm).

Nah, some gomer with an ice fishing pole and a gut full of canned domestic will make the run before its ready. Coast Guard will be deployed and it'll all be live on the evening news.

It's good to see ice on the Lake again though after the past couple years. I think it was only 3 years ago that damned near all the Great Lakes had close to 100% coverage with just pesky Ontario holding out.

Same year about 100 ice fishermen in the Western Basin of Lake Erie went for a very slow but I'm sure very terrifying ride as the slab they were on broke loose and made north for Canuckistan. Boats and helicopters got them all home safely but the amount of lost fishing huts had to be devastating.

How the fuck did that happen with 200 other idling sleds creating a smog cloud like a safety shield?

NPS makes you use 4 strokes so that the ravens and coyotes can run amok without getting asthma.
