Virginia is strong here too. At least on I-81.

    But that's another thread.

That’s some Johnny on the spot shit right there Aldo. Nice work.

Add that dot to the data pile.

How'd we get on Thruway rest stops? I This thread may need a 7 day cool off period so we can refocus our efforts on defining our upstate borders.

This thread, like the boundaries of the Upstate, is an amorphous blob that meanders where it wants.

We don't drive the bus, it drives us.

Well the rest stops do get nicer the further upstate you go on 87. Ramapo is an awful place. Could be a valid point of reference.

I believe that picture was taken of the expedition before the bus got placed on the canal boat.

You were on your way to Timothy Leary's house, right? In Millbrook, NY.

    Upstate or not?

And we're back. Ye of little faith...

Just checked the weather there and it's 37 and "mostly cloudy".

    I'd say that's Upstate.

After my second day at Greek Peak today, I'm very happy that the plague inspired me to find a really good ski hill right on the western edge of upstate. Stay out of Jake's Bar and Grill, though. Covid sesspool.

jeez benny, if you think virgil is a hot ski town, you really should get over to ellicottville... go to holimont midweek for empty slopes. see how the top 8.5% live it up.

Im in agreement. You should try Lab next. You’ll feel like it’s 1970 again.

I love the "THIS AREA IS NOT PATROLLED" warning.
They probably have deep persistent slabs back there, like the Wall!

Not patrolled because they lack funds for nordic gear. I’ve been sledding on that hill, while loaded at 2AM years ago and recall needing a running start ... the whole way down.
