Never really heard that in da ‘Cuse.

Unless it’s an R on a vowel ending.

    That may be the test.

If I can ski hunteR (never been) and eat pizzA and have a sodA, I’m down with that.
I believe that upstaters pronounce the R unless they are mocking downstaters in which case they say Huntah. I’ve never heard that “ope” thing. If it was heard upstate, it’s probably because a Midwesterner was visiting.

Upstaters don't concern themselves with the place, just downstaters.

Weedsport is conveniently close to Ice Cream Shops.

I did see Neal Young play at Weedsport with the blue notes. Great show, only show I saw there.

Can confirm that map is accurate. "Cops" directly at 6PM is one of the only places I've ever gotten a speeding ticket while on the way to a bike race in Binghampton.

I was never a mustache guy until I let it grow out while working from home last spring. I’m kind of digging it now though.

    Uh a dreariness map. Nice.
    I really enjoy this thread.
Not that I have any idea from my communist European perspective where upstate ny is. Somewhere near the statue of liberty?

Sweet TR, thanks. Looks like a fun day and congratulations on your 'stache.

In the first pic it looks like that dumpster may be taking it switch to the road soon. Probably after the beer cans end up in it.

Near is always relative. Since The Statue of Liberty is downstate (nobody in this thread can dispute that) then it is close to parts of upstate NY. It is close compared to Europe also of course. Social distancing has changed the rules of being near also...

When I was stationed in Sicily, the Sicilians I talked to were very confused that I was from New York yet, somehow I still lived more than five hours from New York.

This place is weird. A lot of the trails have the same name.

No, it was called / closed.

However, the effect was the same.
