This. When you're 6-9...stfu about not making the playoffs.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

    NFL 2020/2021

    You guys’ll like this one.

Since the last time the Browns were in the playoffs they have been outscored by 1,558 points. Somehow it sounds worse when you make it touchdowns. 223 touchdowns.

    Yup.

When you're down 28 points and getting pounded in the 4th qtr, sure, run up the white flag. But this was the last game of a shit season and maybe the last game for some guys in the NFL. It was a divisional match and it was well within winning for the iggles. Let the players go out fighting. Just one look at their body language said it all. And making up three spots in the draft ain't going to do shit for what the iggles are facing next year.

Ok. Other than some Giants fans and upset Eagles veterans who weren't probably coming back next year, who cares?

Especially considering how shitty Howie R. is at drafting! If he had the #1 pick, this would be the year he didn't draft a QB!

Happy the Cowboys lost yesterday. By doing so, they improved their draft position, while simultaneously avoiding getting their soul crushed by Philly.

No sympathy for the Giants; they should have tried harder to lose.

You're not the only one apparently.

In this week's episode of Musings of Jerry Jones there's this...

Mike McCarthy committed a major blunder in Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants that may have cost the Dallas Cowboys the game, but his boss was apparently pleased with the decision.

During his appearance on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday, Jones indicated that he would have handled the situation the same way McCarthy did.

“My initial reaction was that it’s difficult to get these things overturned,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “I was concerned about using the timeout as well.”

And there you have it folks. Looks like everyone in the NFC East (but the Giants) wanted the season to come to a swift end. But someone had to win the division so why not have it be a feelgood comeback story starring Alex Smith?

This will be the NFL's worst playoff nightmare if a few teams, or god forbid one of the anointed teams (Chiefs, Packers, etc) comes down with the 'vid.

No Stefanski, no Baker, no _________ WR, no __________ OL...

Well, I'm still stoked as shit that they made the playoffs. Great season Brownies, lets get after it in August.

I'm sure the NFL isn't loosing any sleep over a wild card team losing significant personnel to the COVID list, but TR is right, what's the reaction if its one of their poster-boys?

The Giants lost the Chase Young Bowl last year by winning their last game of season handing Washington the No. 2 overall pick. So now in addition to the Alex Smith storyline (Go Utes) we also have the Chase Young vs Brady storyline. The Giants are underappreciated.

Browns, man... but kinda exactly how one would expect the playoff run to go?

Exactly. Mahomes Reid and 7 other Chiefs out. See how the NFL would react.

Excellent examples, but I'll take it a step further since they have a bye this week.

What if its Drew Brees and several players? Russell Wilson and several players?

NFL reporting the OL Joel Bitonio and WR Kha'darrel Hodge are two other positive tests.

Yeah, who needs your starting Left Guard to play playoff football?

I dunno...while not the Chefs or GB, the Browns have seemingly become the "it" team. People want to see them (like I wrote in the depression thread: Loveable Losers). I bet more people would have tuned into the Browns game than than most of the NFC games.

Yeah, and everyone in the broadcast booth couldn’t figure out why McCarthy didn’t throw the challenge flag on that obvious non-catch.

It also looked like Dalton was a little wilder with his throws than normal. Almost like he wanted to be intercepted.

Well ESPN not confirming Baker so hopefully Schefter was wrong. But that is a lot of guys, and I'm not looking forward to what the close contact tracing reveals.

And the other reality is that this will now be 3 weeks with almost no practices. It's basically an impossible situation.

Turn on the radio. What was a Browns Victory Monday has now smoothly transitioned back into the familiar Browns Therapy Tuesday.

You are talking about the Cleveland Browns, right?

Sounds like your team needs some motivation. Something to play for that's bigger than the game. The Bills defense said their motivation moment came after the Hail Murray. I don't know if that's true, but if they think so, I'm on board with that.

A huge motivator would be making it one day without someone new landing on the covid list.

I'd buy them a cake if they managed to do that.

I just came up with a motivation.

    Per Twitter:
Joel Bitonio is the longest tenured player on the #Browns. Kevin Stefanski gave him the game ball after Sunday's win. Now they both test positive.

Stefanski is Bitonio’s fifth head coach in Cleveland. The former second-round pick lived through the Hue Jackson era, during which the Browns won just one game in two seasons from 2016 to 2017. He certainly deserves a shot to play in a postseason game.

Depending on his situation, Bitonio could conceivably be cleared by the second round of the playoffs. That should give the Browns motivation to win on Sunday.
