That thing broke down nearly every damn day. Sometimes for hours. If it wasn't broken, it was pissing hydraulic fluid into the loading zone and on the haul rope and chairs.

Ski patrol were a bunch of 80s ski movie rejects. They were there to drink schnapps out of their bota bags and fart around. Better to take your chances with frostbite than to trust those dinguses at the end of a rope.

When the lift went down, evac was not an option. You waited until they could jerry rig the diesel engine to run for a few minutes or you took the leap of faith onto the wrod. I wonder how many hours I spent swaying in the breeze freezing my balls off?

All that being said, I never hesitate to jump on blue when it spins but I spend the whole time having flashbacks.
Hah, great story. Lift ptsd. We’ve got it easy now... puts it all into perspective!

I don't think this will be as much of a problem once we get past the holidays. Besides, if you've skied on Hood for any number of seasons, you know how to navigate the crowds and maintain your skiing sanity amidst the clusterfuckery.

Lift lines not bad at mhm, and I’m getting to watch a guy down climb wyeast face each time I get back on the lift.

Ignorance is bliss or does the person have a very high risk tolerance? Crazy to be on that face after all the moisture + wind...

A cold sunny day at the Doo today. Couple of laps with jonesy and another instructor before lessons started. Then just lappin'. Ed's was in deep shade all morning with the sun so low.

In my new career as an outdoor and cannabis lifestyle social media influencer, I feel compelled to pimp useful products. The OR face mask kit is one such product. Breathes ok with the paper filter insert, wicks moisture well, face stays warm, nose wire creates a great fit, does not fog goggles. The filter will saturate after a couple of hours.

Highlight of the day was when mom, dad and two kids tried to load a triple chair. Mom ended up riding with me.

Lines started getting long about 1115 so I called it.

    Text exchange with Jonesy
Me, 1120: I'm out. Line time too long compared to ski time. See ya tomorrow.
Jonesy: Copy. Lesson with six kids, herdin cats

    Jonesy 12.10: I hate kids

Yes, it opened. Looked glorious up there. Looking forward to Friday Night through Sunday. Can't really get any more crowded with parking lot sealed at 8:30 ish. So, WTF? Must ski. It calls me.

I love my OR mask. It is the best of all my sport and non-sport covid masks.

It's not a tube thingy... It's a mask thingy. I have a tube... but by second run, covid or not, I get too warm to wear it.

The 2 Dannish kids were reserved and Hugo the boy became quite the little skier by the end of the lesson. Most kids don't like to turn.

Dannish kids aren’t so bad really, most of them end up accountants or comedians ... Braddish kids on the other hand end up as frat boy hazing bosses! And don’t get me started on the Timmish ...

Turning is overrated unless there's a tree in your way.

If turning was overrated I'd be out of a job. Looks like another beauty day at the office. Then Gnar of the Doo will return Sat.
