Ok, 13,000 posts then.
At this rate this thread could reach iceman status by end of July. It seems to mirroring the US Covid-19 infection rate.

Buster asked this before, but I do wonder how you arrive at your political affiliation in times like these and with the comments you've been posting here.
that said, hopefully you find a gig and can get back on your feet soon. That's got to be stressful, and, if memory serves, you have some kids to look after.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
A post from earlier today detailed the story of a surgeon in NYC who, after getting covid and being confined to home, he kept helping the hospital stay functional from home. I guess in some people’s eyes they think he was doing that for a paycheck? Pretty sure surgeons get paid to do surgery and see patients - not to attend meetings by zoom from home while you’re sick.
You could ask the surgeon why he did it but he’s dead now. We could put all you internet tough guys in touch with his family though? I bet you wouldn’t say out loud to them what you pretend to say out loud in here.
The argument about not recreating is based on increasing the likelihood of needing SAR or hospital resources. For SAR, it increases the likelihood of exposure for them.
For hospital, all resources need to be on deck for COVID-19, not Joe Extreem.

It’s like this thread needs a sticky at the top of each page explaining the basics to the “I don’t see what the big deal is” crowd.
Wtf? This thread crossed into Polyass like 10,000 times already. Half the US will be on antidepressants and other happy pills after this, too lazy to do anything but complain on internet forums about their lot in life and how they are getting screwed over. It's a national obsession.

I used to know a doc still practicing in his 90's. I don't know how much of a practice he had; I just saw him at lunch. Before he was a doctor he was a circus acrobat and a fighter pilot, not sure the order, not sure which war. This was in the 80's, so must have been WWI.
Pretty sure AdironRider is looking to play SS or CF on the Austin Skougars softball team. He is really on fire today.

In case you haven’t noticed, most jurisdictions are under state of emergency. She couldn’t quit her job now if she wanted to. Essential service and all that. I could support the family on my income and our savings, but she wanted to keep working after our daughter turned 2.
Both of us chose our professions due to passion and dedication to our communities, and have risen to the level that our abilities and life choices would allow. The amount of our paycheque had little to do with that. We both volunteer hundreds of hours a year, and continue to do so during this epidemic.
And house foreclosure. Nice strawman there. At least here, no one will lose their home due to job loss or under COVID. Canadian socialism and all that. Maybe you and your ilk were already over-extended prior to this mess. Friends of ours, formerly recently employed in the oil patch, are still over-extending themselves, and are complaining about the stay at home orders and plight of the oil and gas market. It’s hard to listen to them say we need to accept risk to society so they can continue to live underwater. Those choices go well beyond the past 3 months.
If only it were that easy for all of us. After I saw the writing on the walls with the oil industry after my team got let go, I applied for multiple overnight stocking positions, janitorial positions and more at my local grocery store chains, Lowe's, Home Depot and other places that said they were hiring. I got rejected for every position and place.
I was feeling bad about it until my wife told me a lady she works with has a husband who works HR for that grocery store mega chain and said that they had over 40,000 applicants for the overnight stocker positions alone JUST IN THIS CITY. Let that sink in. Many of us out there are desperate for work and fighting for crumbs. Especially with the entire restaurant, service, and oil/gas industries totally fubared right now.
