Hey everyone, I'm going to throw this on the moment talk since I've been a long time Moment user and fanboy. Looking to upgrade my powder setup. Currently on 2012(!!!) Night Trains 178 which I've loved for years but definitely looking to upgrade length (I'm 5'7", 155lbs). My other ski is 2018 Armada ARV 106 which I"m really digging for all mtn skiing but want something more powder specific for bigger days. I ski about 30-40 days a year, Sunlight season pass holder, ski the east ridge alot. 4 day classic pass at Aspen which is almost always entirely used at Highlands. Also do a Silverton trip each year, this year get a heli day. I've been looking at the Wildcat ***FULL STOP***!

Don’t over think this bruh. The Wildcat 184 is yer tool. A playful pow ski that destroys chop. Perfect for that inbounds pow day before AND after freshies have been skied out.

You should prob hit the gym and get those legs in shape, but if you’re not so inclined and yer concerned about weight, then get the 184 WC Tour. It should holdup inbounds for lighter fellas. Certainly more substantial that the ARV.

Hahahaha fair review of my leg conditioning lol. Wildcat is certainly at the top of my list, sometimes it's just hard to pull the trigger with all the choices so was hoping to create some discussion. This appears to be a Wildcat mic drop though.... love it! Thanks much for the 2 cents

Rens and Billy Goats are pretty heavy. Your legs will ass out a little later on the Wildcat. You should get all three, though.

Hey Amigos!

Looking to get some feedback on the wildcat vs. the WC108. For anyone who has skied both, how does the WC108 compare in deep snow conditions? Does the narrower waist make a difference in maneuverability and is it at a cost of a huge loss of float?

Rens and Billy Goats are pretty heavy. Your legs will ass out a little later on the Wildcat. You should get all three, though.

The new Commander 108 are some serious business...rail gs to larger turns on groomers and want to kill anything off piste. More like a traditional stiff big mountain ski with rad groomer performance.

How much has the tip rocker and tip splay changed with the new version? I was debating between a commander, mindbender, and wrenegade.

That’s awesome news. Been looking at the BC Nocta but the Ghost Train looks like it’s a pretty similar ski so might hold off. Plus...they’re Moments.

Yep. More tip and tail splay, and a smidge more mass. I didn’t get along with last years version of either, but I’m way into both this season.

Moment Wildcat Tour Japan update:

I purchased a 190 Bibby Tour (2017) aka Wildcat brand new via Egay this winter.

Mounted with Plum guides on the line and skied with Dynafit Vulcans.

I’d like to assuage anyone’s fears that 190 is too much ski. This is a pretty flexible, fat pow touring ski that will rail on groomers, and does extremely well in variable snow.

Turns through tight trees like an acrobatic Romanian hooker.

I’m 195# and 6’ and this ski is making me happy despite the shitty early season Japan conditions.

It’s not too heavy to take on full-day tours up several thousand vert, and not too light that it’s constantly knocked around in the resort.

A couple data points:

I feel the strength of this ski is heavy pow. It crushes and goes fast, with no catching.

With my pack and fairly heavy weight, I can definitely sink the tips of these skis in really light snow.

In dense chop, these skis lack the backbone to charge, and must be ridden cautiously.

I also brought a pair of praxis protests with me (have not skied them) and I’d confidently say that the Wildcat tour could be an amazing travel ski for anyone wanting a 50/50 experience in any snowy destination.

So after picking up some free to me deathwish 190 with utterly shredded bases...and skiing them in the street during Seattle snowmaggen...and using them as shot skis this summer...and paying evo to do the base repair...and finally getting the edges tuned to my liking...

I agree with all previous comments about grip, versatility, and hardpack performance.

Really nice waist size for just about anything. Begs to be in the air. Light enough to swing around easily even for a hack like me. Centered stance for soft snow or quick pivoting, lays trenches when on edge. Very comfortable switch. I’m slightly in front of the line.

I also get why they made it a little stiffer this year.

My pair likely won’t last long enough to be anything other than shot skis by seasons end...

But I would recommend. Will be skiing them whenever Conditions are in daily driver territory

Just did the same to replace my 13' Belafontes (which I already upgraded to some Confessions). Have a Silverton trip in March to put them to the test. Until then, groomers in the Midwest.

Guys I have a gaping hole in my quiver at the 105-110 ski slot. Realllllllly interested in buying the Wildcat 108 @ 184, but not sure if I should wait until the end of the season or bite the bullet now. Does Moment do spring/summer sales?
