Me too, Rock Auto has a clearance section listed as rss, great deals for filters and brake parts when available.

Rock Auto, sometimes, but careful for budget no name brands that can save you a few bucks up front and cost you more later. Most of the time I buy from pelican parts, fcpeuro, and ecstuning. Pelican has crazy fast shipping to salt lake.

Amazon and try to use a supplier that's semi local so it gets here quicker. Prime gets it here free.

Rock Auto gives shipping estimates that are way conservative. Almost always they find a warehouse close and it is a couple days.

Rockauto gets to Canada in 2 days. It's crazy fast. Their prices crush the Canadian online retailers, including Amazon.

As mentioned, the key is to buy the quality brand name parts.

So I just bought some parts today, and priced out a couple different spots. Rick auto had the main parts (rear Bilstein sport b8 shocks) for $25 less each. $50 savings. The other small bits were either off brand, or a but more expensive, and then shipping wascalulated twice because parts had to come from multiple warehouses. So after everything, fcp euro was about $10 more total. They carry better brands, and have free shipping on most orders. I bought from fcp euro. Every part has a lifetime gauranteed from fcp.

Luckily both are pretty easy/cheap items to replace. Don't forget to check your fuel pump relay.

Welp it was pretty obvious the failure.

Thankfully my merc guy has 04 clk 550 donor car. Scabbed in the ring terminals and boots Portable soldering iron FTMFW! Some heat shrink and you couldnt tell it's not factory wiring. Swapped in the clk fuel pump cause the old one's posi terminal was toast. A lil dielectric grease and made sure das boots are seated G2G.

No post pic I was many beers deep when done.

Are you missing the cover that goes over the filter/pump ? If you are it might be a good junk yard trip item to keep dirt/rocks/water out of there. I have a 97 e320 and there is a cover over the fuel pump/filter area.

Cover was there. It was full of sand/dirt. The boots werent in place and the pump wasnt OEM. My guess is the guy I bought it from in bfe Wyoming took it to his local to have the fuel pump done and they rednecked it.

This motherfucker right here... it was a motherfucker!

Did the right side a couple months ago easy peasy. This time nifty spring compressor eats shit and we had to use some innovative floor jacking techniques to get the coil spring kinda in the right spot and control arm up and everything seated. 1.5hr job took 4. At least my wrench had stelas instead of Coors light Click image for larger version.

You must be super confident with your steady hand taking that coil spring out by lower the control arm ! What happened to the Klein telescoping compressor tool ? I might have to do one of these in the future and I have seen some knock offs on amazon for cheap.

I had the coil clamped and compressed but the bottom clamp plate came off when I dropped the control arm. No injuries and the spring did not go anywhere just fell to the ground. Recompressing outside the car had the bottom plate too low and it interfered with the spring seat when decompressed in the car putting the spring a couple degrees off plumb and couldnt get the compressor out the hole in the control arm. Overextended opening the spring compressor popped off a surclip and the compressor came apart. It is a cheap Amazon one. Anywho one the compressor was out it was a dance of prybars, floorjacks and hammers to get the lower compressor plate out where it was wedged between the spring and control arm. All to replace that little fucking bushing where the hub and control arm connect. Shouldah been home for dinner. Finished after 10pm.

Note to self. When shit goes sideways working on suspension it can really suck.

That's the one. My w210 lived its life in bfe Wyoming on dirt roads. So much sand and dirt in the spring pocket of the control arm in the rear. With those bushings trashed on both sides you could hear my coming before seeing me. Rear suspension feels better with both replaced and now silence when I drive it. Onto the next w210 project my rear window squirter!

Checking this thing out in about 15 mins.
If it checks out, I'll be driving home from PHX instead of flying tomorrow.
