I've started filling old mount holes in skiis with the combo of 2-part gflex epoxy (using a syringe, filling from the bottom) with oak wood dowels, shaved down to fit. it is a chore compared to hammering plastic nubs into holes but i think the final product is as solid as the original product. I also typically mount with inserts, and after drilling / tapping those into the oak dowels, am totally impressed.

At this point, I'd happily take a ski on its 6th mount, replace old mount holes with wood dowels, and mount anywhere i please and feel safe doing it.

    It's kind of amazing.

the ski was made from wood and epoxy in the first place!

    Thank you for the input.

-> direction of the wood-fibers as the specific spot in the core I guess is what you meant?

Those are insane.... But is it a different material on the topsheet than normal? They look like they have a bit of texture?

I prefer a clock wise spiral orientation for my wood dowels. Seems to provide superior retention as well as not affecting the flex pattern of the original core material.

Excellent idea. Do you soak, twist and dry? Have you noticed the finished product pulling to the right? Also, because the screw tightens clockwise, would such pulling be negated by using a dowel with a counterclockwise twist?

They totally do! Not sure what to make of that, but I can’t imagine it would affect the “bomber as fuck” ness endemic to ON3P skis.

    No spinners.
    So that’s cool.

I always accepted the idea that the factory put the recommended mount point on the ski for a reason.

My wrist is getting tired of cranking screwdrivers, bending brakes, etc. Today A-Basin opened up a 2nd token run, so I'm gonna drive from the Pacific and go ski these WROD-inappropriate fatties.

-2 because I live life in the backseat.

Radical 2s/Look HM on stiff goats because I ride pin bindings on everything right now and picked these up new for $200, which was a far cry better than anything else on prodeal.

Quiver killers because, on the ski, they function the same over the lifespan of the product and ended up costing me next to nothing.

My whole set up was about $650 shipped.
Where are you buying super goats for $450? I want

The circle of mag life: mag A gives mag B some music. mag B gives mag A some skis. mag A gives mag C some beer. mag C mounts mag A's new skis.

PSA to anyone mounting LibTech skis. Pretty soft cores. Even with hand tools you can get a spinner.

That said, flex and shape on these looks really fun for low tide putzing and bumping.

Con confirm. Pow nas mount I did a few years back had 4 spinners in 16 holes. Haven’t (knock on wood) had one since in praxis and On3p.

Ha! Actually, a few times I definitely felt the big stack height on Dukes & Guardians, and definitely got annoyed while skiing those. But Marker Demos seem low enough for me not to notice at all.
