bodywhomper gonna need a new head, or the current one pulled and helicoiled. And pray that there is no damage in the cylinder, otherwise he is hunting for a crashed truck to pull a motor out of.

Put some trim on the car last night, realized that you need to remove the glass to install new clips to hold trim around the windshield and rear glass, so I will go track down some windshield trim pieces, and I will pay a pro to install the trim peices. Just supply the right clips and pieces.
Ordered some used fog lights, genuine Hella ones from Flea bay. We'll see what kind of shape they are in.

Water pump and thermostat changed. A lift and the use of a shop for a day made this job way easier. It turned a 10 beer job into a 6 beer job.

Took the fan and passenger wheel out/off.

Then it took for ever to get all the hoses off and to get at the bolts.

There is a place in Portland that charges $35/he for lift and tools. I used them the last time I had to replace some control arms. It was $70 well spent.

I did the harmonic balancer on my old '89 F250 and it wasn't too bad. You'll need a couple special tools that you can likely borrow from the auto parts store. You 100% want to do the water pump while you are there. And make sure you get a good gasket for that job.

Yup, should be a pretty easy job. What motor? I did water pump on my old 7.3 in a couple hours (pull off fan clutch to do it). Autozone should have the tools to rent.

Finally put in 13 ft of NiCopp 3/16 brake line running from front axle junction box to rear axle distribution line on my beater Dakota. Made about a dozen practice bubble flares to make sure I had some clue as to what the hell I was doing. Also replaced drivers front caliper because the bleeder screw was totally fracked. Tomorrow I'll see if it worked when I try to bleed the damn thing.

Clamped off said hardline with vice grips and gave it a shitty parking lot bleed to get us over the pass to the napa(little worrisome driving downhill steep grade but made it) where we bent up a new hardline in their parking lot. No problemo right. Well the whole drive to the dunes he keeps saying "we can't jump the jeep cause its gotta get us back". We made it maybe 5 minutes in the dunes to a sweet hill. Of course we look at each other and he immediately guns it towards the lip and we launch it prob 5ft in the air. As we land he has a concerned look and calmly explains he has no brakes. I learned how to reflare a hardline with vice grips, a nail punch, and bfh. It managed to hold for a couple days till we could replace it in a napa parking lot in rexburg(only thing open on a Sunday in momo country).

So yeah fuck hardlines....

Gotta love that feeling when you think, ok, this is gonna work... I can do this... That brake line looks like no fun.
I'd be tempted on something like that to run a stainless steel braided (and plastic covered) line the whole way and make it easy. Measure out what you need and get the guys at evco to make it for you. Damn. Make sure you test it on a big hill with two big kegs in the back on the way to an Octoberfest party eh.

Summer of 93 I pulled into a Chinese restaurant in Carson City and as we were walking in we hear a pop and turn around to see coolant pouring out of the motor in my Willys. The water pump decided to retire and proceed to empty everything into the parking lot. Of course this was at ~2pm on a Sunday afternoon I pulled the front end of the motor apart right there because what else was I gonna do and walked into the Napa next door with the old pump and would ya believe it they had a pump for a 1965 Buick 225 V6 in stock! An hour later we were eating Chinese food and the Jeep was ready to continue to trip when we finished. Of course two days later the fan clutch quit because I didn't torque the fan bolts down properly so off came the fan and on went an electric. After all was said and done it was better than before the problem started
