Im still taking it a bit easy on my knee (my doc thinks its a light sprain), but I ve gone out on some short skins just to get on my skis for some gentle turns. Hopefully Ill be fully back soon.

I havent actually skinned up silver fir, though it would be a super easy skin. Also, obviously cant skin up silver fir but I have been out to Alpental and Stevens while still taking it easy on my knee. Not sure I really get your point? I havent gone out on long skins due to working on accumulation of gear, still learning the geography and topology of the Cascades, I havent taken a avy 1 course yet (Ive only been skiing for a year and a few months), I have limited time windows, and no one I skin with.

Ive been eyeing beartooth, just would need to see if I can find the few days and bit of money to do it. Im not quite sure how long it would take from near seattle but it took me maybe 10 hours or so to get to Ellensburg WA from Bozemen MT (with stops)

Once upon a time, you had to bury a pair of rock skis in the Lee side of Cody peak if you wanted to ski. No skis allowed on the tram, or so I have been told by older farts than me.

Thats silly that they wont let you bring skis on if is a large enough swoth of snow to ski and you pay for the ride up (maybe charge extra to pay for the room for the skis).

They're full tilt shells from probably 6 or 7 yrs ago and then he would add a shell size larger tongue to stiffen them up so that's why they're all funky looking

The first week of summer was a good one. Got three ski days in, a lazy afternoon at the lake, and got the share the fun with one rather rad lady. To paraphrase Dave Chappelle playing Rick James, "I wish I had more hands, so I could give this week FOUR THUMBS UP!"
