How is that possession charge going to stand?

Something tells me the Jackson community won't let this slide.

Neckdeep usually brings pretty interesting insight on these types of bullshit small town goings on and probably knows of all the crap they pull. I luckily don't deal with cops outside of the parking nazi, but compared to the town I grew up in back East, police presence is light here (at least in the sense they haven't become faux marines with mraps and stuff- which showed up a teenager house party I was at in high school). Probably because they can't house anyone.

But fuck that noise entering our (admitted) bubble. Time for some strongly worded letter to the editor writing!

Seriously though, any lawyer want to fill me in on if that pot charge sticks? Seems something along the lines of unlawful search and seizure or something right?

What percentage of cops under age 50 are actually war veterans who are otherwise unemployable in occupations where they can't use force and violence as the way to get the job done? Add steroids and a no snitching culture ftw

Police agree to drop the charge if victim agrees to forego action against the officer(s)? Even if the charge is bogus the impending legal fees and headache could be motivators to cooperate. Who knows.

This pretty much nails the reasoning behind the “aggressive cop” routine.... And it is a routine.

    Well written article.
The good the bad the ugly.

Lots of wisdom related to police intentionally escalating. I have seen and experienced it.

A police union leader's assertion Monday that Portland "has become a cesspool" elicited strong responses from readers, local leaders, organizations and homeless advocates.

Daryl Turner, president of the Portland Police Association, made the remarks in a statement posted on the union's Facebook page while defending the way that officers interact with homeless people. He slammed Mayor Ted Wheeler's response to homelessness and an investigation into whether police are unfairly targeting people who live outside.

What's the big deal spook? It is a cesspool.

Now get back to protesting, rioting and destroying your own city.

Deputy in my county got caught stealing guns and selling them. Oh, and he was on duty too. Stole them from a dead mans home when the heirs asked him for help.https://www.statesmanjournal.com/sto...uty/868180002/

Georgia police use Taser on 87-year-old woman using knife to cut dandelions
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...-knife-n901196

Relatives said Al-Bishara doesn't speak English and was merely out cutting dandelions with a kitchen knife near her home in Chatsworth, about 85 miles north of Atlanta.
    ...
"If three police officers couldn't handle an 87-year-old woman, you might want to reconsider hanging up your badge," said the woman's great-nephew.
