You guys had more self control than me. The 196 bodes are killer skis. They don't smash chop and crud quite like the SuperGoats but the 196's carve a turn sooo much better than the SGs.

Supergoats make sierra cement a breeze to ski. Everyone else is floundering around in that stuff, while I’m just coolin on the Supergoats

The kind of snow thats similar to crusty cream cheese that’s been left out for a week.

Maybe in a heavy core.. Aevergoats are steamrollers. They roll over 8ft boulder drops like popping over a small mogul.

Goats are born and bred in the PNW. They genuinely crave dense 3d conditions.

I have skied better skis in blower pow for sure. In that regard, I imagine the OG Bode's would compliment the SG.

Anyone out there on 179 wren 88’s for EC low tide use?

I had the og 184 and likes them but they didn’t see much use out west so I sold them.

Now I’m back east for a couple of years and regretting it...and can only find 179s.

Curious who’s on those and whether they ever feel snowlerbladeish or if it makes for a fun ski for firm fast groomer days on small hills.

I am on some 184’s from two years ago. They don’t see much use as I planned as a spring couloir ski. PM me if you are interested in a 184

My wife rides W88’s as a DD here on Mt. Hood. She’s 5’8” and has the softer fiberglass and carbon setup.

I’ve taken them for a few spins and they’re super agile for me at 6’/185lbs, given the softness. They lay an absolute trench at speed. They do not feel snowbladerish at all. However, top speed is achievable at my height/weight given the setup.

Wife mainly sticks to the groomers and she just loves them.

those 184’s are prolly more your ticket if it works out, but 179’s as a fallback aren’t that bad. Just won’t have as high a top speed as the 184’s.

    From the right
-For stupid deep days, or just stupid days.
-Daily Driver, Super Goat stiff with Cast Free Tour
-Daily Driver II, extra stiff Kartel 116 tour, with Cast Si&I plates
-Tour/Rescue Ski, custom stiffness Steeple 108 so I can ski with heavy packs. I have carried an extra 70 or so pounds down MT Baker with these.
-Token Tele setup, steeple 102. Does most everything
-Spring Touring, Wren 88 with redneck faded top sheets.
    -The Beer League Race Ski
-The girlfriend’s skis. She demoed Black Crows and loved them, I cringed, and got these at the end of last season to hopefully help her see the light.
-Wall skis, while I am pulling skis out might as well

I am still on the quest for the perfect quiver. This quiver becomes too many skis to manage. I cringed this morning as I realized I have some skin glue to remove.
The C&D I will happily sell, as I ski them once a season, and never because it is necessary.
The Steeple 102 I want to migrate to a 181 Kartel 108 to be a more pleasant all around tele ski, like a K2 I used to have
The Wren 88, is not necessary, i can handle spring touring on the 108’s.
And the redundant Daily Drivers I still do not know what I want to do with. The SG’s are so dialed and uniquely mine I can’t bare to sell. But I kept grabbing the Kartels, last winter. They are quicker than the goats but such rockets. Maybe sell them both and get a custom Kartel that combine the personal touch of the SG and these Kartels.

    Thanks dood.

I snagged them for a crazy price so if they end up not working out, watch for them on GS next winter...

Yeah - I’m unexpectedly in nyc for a couple of years. Will probably be doing a combo of Catskills and magic and traveling.

I never put my first year 191s on a scale, but they were by far the heaviest skis I've ever skied. I'd guess 2,7-2,8. But due to the heavily tapered tips and tails the swingweight wasn't that bad. But they trucked through any sort of softish snow or crust.

I need to weigh my Aevergoats. I have a feeling they are almost 2700g/ski.

Average weights across the whole run (all layups) last year was 2572 grams/ski. I think your skis came in at 2608 & 2625, respectively, if I am looking at the right pair in our data sheets.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

Custom ski wise - we are in last days of our custom sale for the year now. 15-20ish pairs left at this point.

SuperGoat wise - we'll see if there is interest again in a run later this fall. It's...a small market so I wouldn't be surprised if we tapped it out last year, but we'll see if there is interest once we can plan a larger run.

Thank you for that info. That’s what is so nice about shopping with On3p. You really have an eye on what you build. My SG’s are the perfect weight for smashing through any chop or slarving and charging through heavy mucky snow, while not being too heavy that they sink at all. You did a phenomenal job on these skis. I was afraid the 2x wouldnt float in perfect snow, but they float like a dream!

Also, I usually dont get along with asym skis, but can confidently say that both the Supergoat and C&Ds have the most comfortable form of asym I have tried so far. I havent tried the 2018/19 BGs yet..

You have a design where the oustide edge sidecut doesnt pull you into a shorter turn right away when driven on packed soft snow. It only happens towards the very end of the turn, and only when driven hard. Some other companies versions just pull you into a shorter turn automatically when tipped over while leaned into, at least for me. In soft snow, the asym difference is real. I can release my SG tips and tails so easily, and vary the turn shape dramatically. They slash, slarve and rip at the same time, and you can dance around with them a bit more than anyone should expect from such a big ski. The big girl can dance! Then they are also more carvey through the tail than other RES designs I have tried, a little more like a wren tail.

I hope you keep the design around, cuz I will definitely order a 2023 On3p SG 1.5x.. when my current pair gets hung up on the wall and my knees are a little older.
