after 500+ days of brutal treatment it’s time they retire.
Are the MVPs as predictable on edge as the Rx are? Albeit a little quicker. I think my favorite trait of the Rx is their predictability.

I’m debating a heavy core MVP vs Moment Wildcat, wondering if the MVP is also as predictable as the Bibby? Blistergear reviews on the MVP suck, and I cant find any other comparisons of these two using the search function. Anyone been on both?

Should I go #4 or #5 flex for heavy core MVP?

I think the #5 would be significantly heavier, which I like the idea of, but I also want something more playful than my Rx.

Could I expect a 193 heavy core #5 MVP to be just as fast as my 189 heavy #5 Rx, while the MVP shape allowing for a bit more playfulness and maneuverability?

On3p Kartel 108s are too quick for me and Kartel 116s are terrible on firm snow (great everywhere else though) I’m looking for something similar, that makes much longer turns, more like the Bibby Pro/PBJ. I assume the MVP likes to make long turns and isnt lightning quick, and is better than Rx on firm (Rx is pretty amazing on firm as it is)?

Haven’t skied MVP but flex wise — wouldn’t #4 be more fitting considering playful is the characteristic you’re after? Also would offer some variation in your quiver. Think 4 is my favorite although grabbed 3 in Protest to have variation in the overlap

Wait what? You have a 3 flex 192 ProTest and a 4 flex?

If you want to work on spins and get jibby then flex #4. If you arent okay with slowing down compred to your RX/sg/monsters then #5.

I know you didnt like your -10 Qs, but mostly cause they were to short? Did you like the #4 on them?

No only 1 pair of protest, probably wrote that unclear. My other Praxis’ are 4s but went with a 3 on PT. Was trying to say; wanted a slightly softer ski where most of my quiver is firm to stiff.
Between the two of us you’re the one with two protest 🤙🏼 And I’d be stoked to poke around those ski areas with you.

4 is probably best, especially in the 193

agree that a 4 flex is better if your less than a 200#’er
Im over 200#, but #4 is not too soft. I like #5 flex because it seems to add weight too. I like heavy skis. I really want a heavy ass #3 mvp, like 2500g/ski, but I also wouldnt want to mess with Keiths perfect balancing of ski designs.

The only reason I sold Q’s was they were too short. I think I’d really like 193 skinny Qs, but I just prefer skis without asym. The #4 flex was fine, but they just seemed a little too light. Im sure the wider MVP, plus 193 length will add some weight.

    Sounds great.
I think the shape of the ProTest lends itself to a stiffer flex. There are instances when I feel my 188’s are too soft. Super playful though.

For what it's worth I went from 192 4 Flex Enduro/Carbon/Nylon topsheet mounted on the line to 192 Enduro/Veneer/3 Flex mounted at -1.25

Felt myself leaning back at times on the older pair, hoping the softer flex and rearward mount will get those tips where I want them to be w/o tip dive. Not sure if softer was the move or not yet. Time will tell.

*To clarify, tip dive isn't the right word. When you pushed on the tips they supported you and let you get into the snow, but I felt the balance would have been better a little further back

Picked up the old 188s for the hell of it/sharing skis, those will be mounted with attack demos so looking forward to messing with the mount point on those and A/B'ing those with the 192s

You’re not alone. I’m at -1.5 and feel like 1 more back —> balance would improve.

Hmmm. I measured my 188’s and found I’m actually 102.25 from the tip. I remember having hole conflict that pushed me forward an RCH. After doing some side by side comparo with my new 192’s I was thinking about -1 to-1.5. I may just go -2 now.

Pulled tape on mine now. At about 104.25 on 192. Have a toe binder on - so possibly number off slightly.

Assuming you guys are measuring from the tip rather than from the tail?

If I were drilling fresh it would be -2. You still could go forward after that but think you’ll be happy. I said an additional -1 to my -1.5 cause I simply can’t get to -2 sitting at current mount.

I've had my GPOs at both -1 & -1.75. I have a marginal preference for -1.75, although the sweet spot seems to be quite wide - as in adaptable to how you like to ski.

My Protests? Well, you know the story about me and them. This coming season will hopefully tell the story: 187s currently mounted at -1.5 (102.0 from the tip, with the dimple at 100.5).

I went -1 on my GPO’s. Ski great at that mount.

Wow those are nice. Get ready for some fun. Great west coast daily drivers. Just looking at them I can see why I like them so much. The sidecut profile from tip to tail looks so balanced and blended together. They have the Perfect amount of taper, you only feel that aspect when you need it, otherwise they ski like a thinner, more traditional ski. They are my favorite skis, simply because how versatile they are. They rip Squaw ice for 116mm underfoot. They also slay the chundery crap, almost like a more traditional Billy Goat.
