I guess the diagnosis was Crystals, Blatter blockage.
Mr. Kitty has been doing well. He eats, drinks, poops and pee's.
He is upset with me because I will not let him outside.
In addition to that they gave me some pills to give him "Praziosin"
I have only given him one of those pills. Making him swallow a pill is a really big deal.
It's been four days now, so not sure what I am going to do about that. He seems fine now but I sure don't want him to relapse. I have also cut off the Kitty treats.
It's like nothing ever happened until I look at the spot on his leg where the fur is shaved off for the IV. reminding me that something serious had just happened to him.

Sit on his back to secure him. Firm grip to the head with off hand. Tilt head up and back and Use thumb to pry mouth open. Throw pill down and hold mouth shut. You have to take strong control. You can do it!
I'm glad to hear that he's doing well. That crystals/bladder blockage thing is kind of a bitch, but if he gets the right diet that should keep it at bay. The vet probably told you about it, but there's something he should avoid in his food - I think it's ash, or something like that. Probably easy to google.
I bet he's a little pissed about getting cut off from kitty treats.![]()
Pilling cats is a whole 'nother level; administering liquid pain meds by rubbing it on their gums is a recipe for disaster. That urban "myth" of cats running around on the ceiling ...... isn't a myth.
Have you switched his food? I put my boy on C/D urinary tract food and never had another issue (dry kibble).
Hill's Prescription Diet c/d Multicare Urinary Care with Chicken Dry Cat Food
Also, for pilling I use a pill syringe - works wonders. I got it from my vet but you can order it here if your vet doesn't carry them:
Pet Piller Pill Gun
Chewy has one too:
Four Paws Quick & Easy Pill Dispenser
Glad he's better!
Been floating on the outside of this kitty conversation... allow my experience with the Pills. Gave my cat Farina pills for four years before she passed away from hyperthyroidism and old age -20yrs...
Crush them up and put them in some of his favorite food... worked like a champ for me.
I don't have a cat now, but i tried that with Mr. Buddy and the f'er could sometimes always tell and would give me the "WTF" look and not eat it.
/\ tried both. Fail. You can learn to pill a cat. It takes commitment but it can be done.
piller and pillee both can be trained
Have you looked into transdermal meds vs. pilling? We get our cat's thyroid meds in a paste that we apply to the inside of her ear twice a day. Used to have to pill her. So much less stress and blood this way.

Have you seen a one armed man around here?
Ha, cats are retarded.
Mr Kitty is still doing good.
His diet change is that I no longer give him tuna or soft food as a treat 2X a day. He is on his dry food diet that he likes. He has adjusted to that.
I let him outside now and then, but he does not stay out more then a couple hours. He seemed more homed to me than before.
Never tried to give him another pill. They only gave me 5 days worth, so whatever value that had has come and gone with no ill effect.
