Yea, the meds have worn off now. I was looking at his bladder tube. He has stiches down there. fucking stiches where his balls are to hold in a plastic tube that runs though his kitty dick into his balder.

That suitical item I posted earlier (from chewy.com) might be worth buying for him to keep the tube in place and keep him from pulling at it. There is a review on the product from someone who used it for their male cat that had surgery like Mr. Kitty. He said it was a life saver.

This animal-specific “onesie” is genius! My male cat had extensive abdominal surgery and required a gastric feeding tube. We’re in week 5 of the feeding tube, and he was miserable in the e-collar. With another few weeks remaining for the stomach tube, I ordered a Suitical using the manufacturer’s sizing guide. My cat measures just under 12 inches from nape of the neck to his tail, so I ordered the XXX small, which was SO small that he was squeezed like a sausage! He’s not even fat, only 9 lbs. But, Chewy to the rescue! A wonderful customer service person refunded the cost of the XXX small, asked me to donate it, and billed & shipped out the next size up, XX small. This one fits perfectly.
What I like: no cone! He can wash his face, legs, paws, and butt, and sleep curled up. He’s much happier. Also, the stomach feeding tube and clip can be tucked underneath, no problem. The fabric has Lycra and is stretchy, lightweight, and breathable. The neck band and leg openings are a stretchy knit, so they are not constricting but are secure.
What I wish was better: the thin fabric is great for breathability but it’s easily shredded by vigorous scratching, which he does with his hind feet. I’m hoping it survives the next 10 days until the tube is removed. Tufts of fur poke out through the holes he’s created and it won’t take much to enlarge the punctures. The sizing info was just dead wrong; he measured within the guidelines for the original Suitical I ordered, but that was much too small. That said, you wouldn’t want to go up a size too large, because it needs to fit but not exceed the length of the animal.
The Suitical would fully protect the sutures following a spay, but I don’t think it would work for a male’s neuter because the “business end” is open.
Bottom line: my cat is so much happier wearing this instead of the cone of shame. I’d tried an actual onesie, which he was able to wiggle out of, and a stockinette with armholes, which was better but still required a cone. This, even despite the shredding, is almost perfect.

Me and Mr. Kitty got back from the vet about 6 hours ago.

I was in the back with him and held his legs as thy pulled the catheter out. the catheter was blocked.

I watched the vet cut the sutures and pull and 8 inch tube out of him.

The vet started talking about putting him down


So here I sit, Mr. Kiity has been hinding under my bed all day. He growls and snarls when I try to touch him.


I have to take him back Monday morning 8 am. I could see the look in everyone's eyes, they think I should let them kill him.

I am not sure what to do, and yea, not a happy camper.


But Mr. Kitty is not happy, what is the right thing?

I am not even embarrassed, But I broke down and started crying in front of people I do not really know.

Where is the line / between keeping a pet alive to keep it alive.
And keeping them alive just so I don't have to suffer.

And when they have a medical condition how much do you do to keep them going, but suffering?

For my own selfish reason that I just love him and don't want to let him go


Is paying a vet to kill them the more human thing? than letting them die naturally?

Yea your right. I guess I am hoping for a weekend miracle. And I don't believe in a god.


But as of now it is looking like Monday morning I am going to have to take my living breathing best buddy to town an they are going to shoot something into the catheter his has on his arm right now, and

He will be gone.


Hes has been locked in the house the past 24 hours.

When I got up this morning about 5 am, dead mouse next to the bed.

I know plenty of people who have spent a ton of money when they knew it was a lost cause and their pet died within a week anyway, not that money is the motivation, but it is another factor if it's all for naught. Good luck and go to the shelter and pick up another kitty that needs a great dad.

I'm so sorry that you and Mr. Kitty are having to deal with this painful situation. These things are never easy but at least we can make these humane decisions for our pets. Take heart and take care.

One of the hardest things about pet ownership is outliving them. My last over the Rainbow Bridge was Ninja, our tuxedo who out of the blue had a seizure that turned out to be renal failure. The three days between seizure and his death were hell between his agony and not wanting him to either suffer nor die.

Our vet knew of another that did in-home euthanasia. That at least allowed him to stay in a familiar environment. I held him while the vet administered the drugs. Even though it was the right decision, I was still an emotional wreck for days after.

I made my promise to Sister I will do anything and everything to keep her alive and provide her the best care as long as there’s quality of life.
Also I promised her I will hold her til the very last breath.

After 8 months of battling heart failure and kidney failure, she needed to tab her chest/abdomen fluid and enema.
When the cycle was getting shorter and shorter, I knew it was time to let her go.
There was no quality of life left.
She was just enduring treatments weren’t fixing her problems but adding more.

You know what you need to do.
I know how hard it is.
And it is okay to cry.

Gone all day. Comes back at night and sleeps on the porch. He has a day home for sure. Really sweet and very smart cat. Doesn’t scratch or bite. I gave him a flea treatment.

^I’m okay with sharing cats, as long as they’re well-behaved. There are a couple from the neighborhood that drop by for kibble and to catch a mouse or two. It helps keep the mouse population down. None of them seem to do much to keep the raccoons and skunks away though.

This cat showed up at my back door in early December almost starved to death. I didn't want to keep her, but couldn't find a home for her. Her home ended up being mine. My wife named her Praxis. She lives in my patio storage room at night and when we're out, but spends quite a bit of time inside too. She is super well behaved too. And follows me around like a dog. I love her. It's time I post some kitty stoke.
