Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
I’m knocking here.

Pretty sure it was a rabbit.

Hey, any of you jerks ever have a Siberian kitty? I would love to get a cat, but as I posted about 18 pages back developed an allergy when I was a kid after having cats my whole life up to then. My mom later bought a devon rex, which helped but which did not solve the problem. So hypoallergenic is the only option for me, sadly.
Supposedly siberians have 1/4 the level of the protein in their saliva that drives most people's allergies. Anyone?

Warning: Long read
Can anyone tell me why my kittens (now 6mo old) are so skittish?
In anticipation of letting them out someday (oh please!) I've been taking them out on walks to show them around the outside of the house and how to get in and out. They really seem to enjoy the walks and are familiar with the one door we've been using.
Today I was walking my little girl and everything was going great then something happened to scare her and she stepped off a terrace wall she was standing on which caused her to slip out of her Kitty Holster (I was standing on the terrace with her when she went over the edge to the patio which is why I think the holster slipped off in addition to not having fastened it snug enough). Anyhoo... she got out of the holster and ran away in abject terror. All I could do was watch as she rounded the front of the house and headed for the vast wheat fields like her tail was on fire.
I called and called without any luck so I got the idea to put her brothers out on the back deck in this large dog kennel I have in their room. They are familiar with the kennel and sleep and eat in it. I put them in the kennel, opened the back door and slid it to the doorway thinking they might help her find her way back. They were fine until I exited the room, went out another exterior door and approached them from the outside. It was total mayhem! The fought like wild animals to get out of the kennel and away from me. It had only been 30secs. max since I'd left them yet they acted like I was a wolf coming to eat them and nothing I could do or say would calm them down. They bounced around in the kennel like popcorn scrambling and bloodying their noses against the wire. WTF?
I did finally find my little girl. She was under a tool box in the garage (must have moved there because I had checked earlier). She was trembling and crying but would not come to me. I finally got down on my belly so I could reach her and pulled her out by her scruff.
It's not like there isn't activity and noise in the house - music, vacuum, TV, people talking etc. but if I sneeze they run and hide as fast as they can.
I don't get it - why are they so afraid? Will they grow out of it? Should I forget about letting them out? I've always had cats that were indoor/outdoor but that was when I was a kid and my parents were in charge of them. Maybe they did something different like thew them out and hoped for the best. Since then I've had barn cats who had a mother and learned to fend for themselves. A few of them became house cats after having grown up in the barn and they were well adjusted.
