OK, all that sounds about right except for the part about the flex being similar. These things are not even close. The grizzlys are what I would call a medium'ish flex in the tips and tails and pretty firm under foot. The other ones I picked up are 2x4s. I guess it's possible one pair of them was a custom flex, I'm just not sure which.

Anyone in SLC have a recent pair of 189 wren's I could take a run on? It sounds like I could be into the 16/17 - 17/18 version.

Okay, even with a touring layup those 114's look pretty damn heavy. Definitely a resort only ski, I'm thinking.

The same could pretty much be said for the line-up, which is probably why ON3P ditched the Steeples. And I've taken my 108 Steeples for many enjoyable walks through the trees, but I get it.

Yeah, Iggy flat out stated in the thread where I pulled most of that info that the flex did not change in those early years. So you either have a custom pair, or your Grizzlys have enough use to soften them up. My guess is the former.

Well, I still think you might like the 189 Wren 108 from 16.17 or 17.18, like you mentioned above. Or you could always get a custom softer version -- easy for ON3P to build them with less carbon to make them slightly softer but not lighter or less damp. Kartel will be mounted way more forward, which might mess you up a bit if you like the -9 mount on your current pair.

I am thinking some Noboard knock off skis would be good for closing day. Good for some spoofing and epic wipeouts. Really get to show off how soulful you are. ON3P snow blades with veneer tops, do it!

Nah, Luke over at Moment already perfected the snowlerblade with his Too $hort Biotch design. Back to back golden saucers at the Pain McShlonkey Classic, including last weekend.

I've toured on the stock Wren 98's and they aren't so bad. But obviously the wider you go with the Wrens, they get a lot heavier quick.

Got out on 186 K116s today. Very, very good skis. Easier to ski than 190 Moment Bibbys, and much more playful/jibby, without giving up too much stability. I was skiing them on firm/slush type snow, which isn't even where they shine.. Tomorrow I'll get them out in some powder. Just the type of ski I needed to fill a quiver hole. Nice and easy to ski, with a nice backbone to it.

Fuck, I just bought the last pair of K116s in 191 because of you. My caylors from 11/12 are still going strong with 200-300+ days on them, but goddamn, I gotta have the K116 with shifts to replace the caylors with dukes. And that TGR mag discount was just too damn good to pass up. Thanks Scott!

So, does the Colorado fleet have WTR compatible bindings?

I never got a definitive answer, and at the February Loveland demo, I rented some sloppy fitting boots.

I skied the 186 K116s today, and was really impressed. They feel extremely balanced with a light swing weight. Easy to ski, yet can still rally under my 210lbs. I normally like a longer ski, but there was absolutely no “over the handlebars” feeling on them whatsoever. I liked the shorter length for messin’ around at slower speeds, and trying to jib. Recommended mount point feels money$$$$

I was debating them with the ARV 116 JJ, and so glad I stayed with On3p. I was a little afraid the K116 would be too stiff to butter around, but it’s just the perfect flex for butters, and still has the On3p core’s signature damp stability. This is a great ski! A playful charger, capable of getting seriously creative.

I sold my 193 Cochise and miss it dearly... Bad decisions were made... I have never been on an ON3P and would love to try the Wren for that mid fat slot. Should I wait for the metal wren?

A few pages back there are comparisons between the 185 Cochise and 184 Wren... I would assume it's pretty similar a size up in length. In general, if you like one of those skis you're probably going to like the other, regardless of metal. Wrens are plenty awesome without metal, no need to wait IMO. And they definitely ski powder better.

spent the day on Wren 108s in great conditions, soft pow to semi-crusty sun affected old snow ... W108 are one of the best skis available, IMO.

Purchased a pair of Kartel 116s and skied them this year. They are fun but having issues with hooky tips in skied out slopes. I came off of the OG Moment Bibby 186 which had its widest point all the way out near the tip. Wondering if the hookiness is a product of the taper or if I need to detune (or other theories). Also unsure if I know what tip hook is but basically the tip catches at the apex of the turn occasionally and kinda hyperextends my knee.
