I'm pretty sure it'll be fine. I'm not expecting any problems.

If even Skidog is skiing the LCC tomorrow I think that's my cue to use a Deer Valley day.

It always seemed to me that they actually looked at the tread and siping rather than looking at the writing on the sidewall.
i said it before. I have been driving up that canyon for 10 years, driving either a pathfinder or a tundra. NEVER have i used M+S with snowflake. Always M+S. Never turned around maybe they look at trucks differently? Would be stupid if they did, but hey...UPD so...

We have idiots in the north using FWD with summer tires trying to go up and they block road. But if your up at base by 8-8:30 I can avoid the gapers. Should be good tomorrow for sure. 3-4” at my house so far.
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

UPD was turning around 2wd cars at the bottom of BCC around 10:45 am, just waving through anything AWD looking. not checking tires.

beautiful winter day, hell yeah. didn’t ski bad either. cold on the ridgelines, deep too, felt like a foot+ and still snowing.

    cheers, hope y’all got some.

Well that was some dust on rock and fauna today. Always amazed how well we humans can handle adverse conditions without killing ourselves.
Survival, luck, and something else...no wind and light density...ran my routes today slower than I have all year. Too bad we can't collect valley snowfall and distribute it at the upper elevations. Heard there was more snow in the valley than up high.
We can take comfort in knowing that we live in a place that is the most constant for hundreds of miles around. Centered in the west.
And this place will still be standing when other neighbors are living in rain...at least for a while. Something someone can wish on one's kids.

    Ummm isn't that showing 7.5 inches?! 😂😂😂

Great skiing yesterday in the upper big cottonwood powder parks! Damn crowded though and UPD was ticketing improperly parked cars in the spruces lot. Early season/low snow conditions still exist as I exploded my upper boot buckles when I kicked a stump. Better some buckles than a knee but damn that was a close call.

Today was pretty fuckin good. Legit thigh deep, right side up blower. I did hit one or two rocks, but no major damage done. Skied east/northeast facing terrain at and above 9000 feet. No instabilities noted but kept it less than 30 degrees other than some small rollovers.

Took a low angle lap behind the house. Desperately trying to stay awake and flip my clock. It was pretty deep on top of a crusty layer. Still lots of twigs down low. Totally worth it.

Cirque opening was delayed due to a dud explosive. Just curious, anybody know how they deal with that? I can't figure it out.
