Flagstaff, right across the street from Alta skied remarkably well on Saturday. Probably a bit crunchy from all the weeekend sun by now. But, I was happy for the one lap i got to do before D-Rocs stupid broken bindings became brokener.

2Row is bar none, best thing that has happened to Utah beer. I make the difficult 15 minute pilgrimage there monthly to stock my beer fridge. I like the Feelin Hazy.

I think it might be my new favorite Utah beer. Definitely if you only consider IPAs. Hopefully they make another batch soon.

24k and Farmhouse (9%!) are both amazing brews for those that prefer ales over IPAs. 2Row is on par with the better MN & WIS brewers IMO.

I've been a few times now.
EC just had an epic January Thaw. Been watching the model runs and the bouy. Timing worked between rehabbing and injury and getting back to work.
See ya at the pdog for a few blue cans.

What makes you think there are a lot of good brewers in MN and WIS? I can't really think of any great craft breweries out of those states outside of maybe New Glarus. Michigan is by far the best state for craft brewers in the Midwest and Utah is much closer to some other top brewing states like Colorado, California and Oregon.

Heh, I also saw that. I will say, after looking at their website, the Dark Alley Stout has piqued my interest and I'll have to try and find some while I'm out there in February.

Its the region I know the best since I'm originally from the area. They have some good ones other than New Glarus like Surly, Dangerous Man, and Steel Toe. But yeah you are right there are better brewers outside the midwest region. I should've said less hoppy (lower IBU) ales but I didn't.

Makes sense. Cheers, I'll have to give 2Row a try.

    ^ nice pics!

pretty fun race last night at brighton, guess there were 139 participants. I did an afternoon lap in promised land beforehand, which is skiing much better now than when I last hit it.

saturday should be a massive shitshow eh?

    Wicked nice photos there Brutah.

Bought SW plane tickets in August and then life got in the way and did not think much about the trip. Up until a couple days ago was pretty sure I was just going to pay it forward with the plane tickets. East was skiing better anyways:

Well in last 24 leaning pretty hard to taking the trip. Coming in on the 22nd and flying out on the 31st. Had been casually paying attention to the snowpack, but took a bit to read up on the avy bulletins. Clicked on the listed avalanches and I was very surprised by the number of reported skier avalanches. Presidentials in the East are the only place I have a vague first hand knowledge of the number of skier set avalanches vs reported and they are way under reported. So the list seemed like a lot and they also sounded large by the crown reports. https://utahavalanchecenter.org/aval...st/salt%20lake

I have a 7 day good any day until end of the month at Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton and bus ride up and back. Ideally would meet Tuesday 1/23 morning at base of 1 of the resorts and pass on ticket then, Could meet another time later. Sell for over 6 benjamins online. I was thinking $220. Send a pm if interested.

Indeed, urban growler, bauhaus, fulton, etc. I'm actually not a huge surly fan.

I like to torture myself by getting all aboard the hype train of that one crazy model run at the top.

Either way, LCC is going to be a complete cluster on Saturday.

And don't worry, I'll be sure to wash my car on Friday as an anti-jinx for this post.

Total fuckshow for sure....go up and stay Friday night or get up early (pre potential road closures) and just sit in the lodge/car. Then add a tricky snowpack which will at least delay some terrain openings and it'll track out fast I imagine. Still damned glad to see a storm coming.

Yup. Gonna be an early morning saturday followed by lots of waiting around. Can't wait! I may just head up early to beat the closure if there is one. Guess we will see. If the wife comes along that ain't gonna happen though.

So this will be the second time all season that LCC will be restricted with UPD at the mouth of the Canyon. Are they going to turn around AWD vehicles with M & S tires as they did randomly back in December?

it'll probably rain to 8000 feet so they won't need to restrict vehicles at all!
