When Mikela has struggled its been mostly due to boot that the lateral alignment was set up to strong. IE pushing her knee further apart than needed. If you know what your looking for its silly easier to spot and fix by someone like PJ at racestock, but even at the highest levels of USSA/PSIA they do not seem to understand alignment. Just look at Vonn for over a decade she has been set up "soft" meaning her boots need ground to align her knee further out. I just want to make one thing clear, aligning boots is not about going after a "look" but get the skier in position where they can have the most range of motion from. generally it looks better, but it is also faster. For recreational skier properly aligned boots let them ski with more overall control and comfort....but yet the PSIA and USSA do not have alignment knowledge as part of their exams.
Hey Josh, remember what happened last time you made a comment about someones "alignment"? I think its time to move along, this is not Epicski.

    "Hey Josh,
Just wondering why you felt the need to take a hurtful pot-shot at my wife?
You might not know, or care, but when you post things like that online, there’s someone on the other end of the line. In this instance, that someone is a very humble, caring person, whom I would guess you would quite like were you to meet her in person.
My wife hates doing shit like this, and prefers the spotlight be aimed elsewhere. She does, however, possess an effortless quality to the way she shreds on a bike and on skis,as well as the good vibe that she kicks out to the people around her, that makes people want to feature her in silly videos or photos or whatever, like this.
No, her ski technique is not confined to the re-enactment of some stupid set of rules that some douchey PSIA dick enacted on a perfectly groomed blue run. She just goes out there and has fun and shreds. Hard. And people like it. To the tune that she has won numerous Freeskiing events on both tele and Alpine equipment.
I’d guess you probably thought she’d never even see your comments, but she did, and they hurt her feelings.
I’m sure that after all the effort you’ve poured into perfecting your Ski technique, you feel a bit disenfranchised that this video isn’t of you. My advice - try kickin’ out a more positive vibe, so cool people can actually stand to be around you without writing you off as another PSIA, EpicSki douchebag who spends more time posting on web forums and playing Call of Duty than actually shredding. You’ll get there eventually there Slugger!
In the meantime, visualize how stupid you’re gonna look picking up your teeth with broken fingers should you ever feel the need to insult my wife ever again.
Hey if it stings it must be true."
BTW this post was made about a "pro" freeride skier. Ill name names if he retaliates any further."

9 out of 10 PSIA instructors are asshats who honestly think they're gods gift to earth and would manage to spend 30 minutes discussing one part of a single turn.

    Fuck that.

At the local Innkeepers/Beer League, you will never, I mean never see PSIA guys there. They are so fucking slow, never willing to let it go. Linked recoveries and maybe a couple of clean turns is the best you can hope for in gates. Their fragile egos can't deal with being smoked by local shop rats.

The point of posting outside ski with no tip or pole drag was to show its was impossible to do with out edge locking a carve. It was PSIA task, this video and the discussion that followed stopped it from being a task.

USST/USSA is getting flawed info from PSIA and neither knows alignment.

but basically her boots when she has bad runs especially in GS(but sometime SL) have been angled to far to the outside, realize this is not a skill, but how the boots are set up. Every racer at this level has had alignment work done, some of it correct, some of mostly correct, and sometime changing boot manufacturers can lead to a process that will lead to mistake, atomic has changed boot several times including change to the "duck" of the boot. When they have MS in a ducked boot her alignment get too strong. Right now the alignment is basically spot on but back in 2015 there was struggle in GS due to bad alignment.

its not that atomic isnt aware of it, its that they quite often fix it too late. This is a good comparison.

    2015

left boot is set overly strong, every single right turn is super slow on to edge and its extremely bottom heavy. The ramp angle is slightly toe high as well causing her to be back on her heels. Note she is still awesome and would kick everyone's ass in SL.

    2017

alignment is spot on here. Letting her move the apex to the middle of the turn and not at the bottom, also ramp angle has the toes slightly low letting MS ski from the middle of the ski.

The reality is physics is physics. Whether or not you believe me, hate me, or dispise me facts are facts, and if you listen and make objective comments against me it would actually hurt me more.

Than calling me Fudgepacker, Trump, a know it all ski instructor or doubting my knowledge of skiing. I am hack. I started as an adult, quickly learned to run gates to make my college team, and have competed and made second round in a couple freeride comps....by no means world class. If you really hate me, attack my ideas objectively it will hurt worse than the name calling.

the point of his post is that neither you nor him are qualified to evaluate this. And yet you have twice asked him to evaluate it. To use his analogy, he's also a 15 handicap, and neither of you are in a position to evaluate Tiger's seeing.

Good lord, you're not only an idiot but a pedantic one.

Facts don't change based on one's qualifications. Accurately determining what are actual facts does depend on qualifications.
