    Running, Anyone...?

    Jesus, Larry.
I thought I was dying running 11 in that heat.
    I can’t imagine running a full.
Way to go finishing without dying!!!

If that ain't fun then I don't know what is! Congrats on another finish!

All I can think of is food.
I eat non stop and get hungry within couple hours.
    This is so annoying.

That's why experienced PNW ultrarunners aim for puddles of water to clean their shoes on the run.

This is random but anyone on here experience really bad itching the first few times you run? I think I've heard it referred as runner's itch? If I haven't ran in a few months, the first 3-5 times my skin feels like it's on fire (literally as if fire ants are crawling around) especially my legs and torso. Itching it only makes it worse. Yesterday it got so bad I had to stop early.

Anyone have similar experience or know what the fuck is going on?

*Also to clarify I'm normally in good shape. I just prefer to run not during summer. I bike regularly, hike, and work in the field the rest of the year but only experience the crazy itching when I start running again.

I've always thought that the blisters is a shoe fit thing or wrong socks. Maybe I'm wrong..:.

I don’t normally get blisters unless I run 15+ miles or my socks/shoes get wet.
If my socks and shoes get wet, even 6 mile run will give me blisters guaranteed.
I ran wet half and I had 3 big blisters in different spots.

Depends on the location of the blister. Blisters between toes are common on long runs, can largely be avoided with Injinji socks if they fit. Blisters on the bottom of the foot -- e.g., ball of foot, just behind toes -- are the bane of many long-distance runners and there's no single means to avoid them.

just ate shit running for the first time in a while, running on the edge of the curb and checked my watch, oops. a few comical “nonono” stumbles and then down. fortunately nothing injured but my pride.

Well that's good to know. I've had issues in the past and blamed shoe fit, which, based on your input, was a partial culprit.

Fuckers had their dogs off leash today at jackass hill and they came running at me all threatening looking. The owners are unconcerned and say, oh it's ok they're friendly. I say, look I don't need any more friends. Get you dogs under control now. Just had to stand there while they made floundering attempts to get leashes on the little shits. I'm all for dogs off leash but I'm also for dogs who are off leash in populated areas to be under voice control.

Don't be a shitty dog owner!

Happened to me last weekend on a bike. I went around a corner and was greeted by a dog on the other side. Had a bit of a standoff with its teeth out. Meanwhile owner was 20ft away stuffing her face with blackberries on the side of the trail making no effort to get her dog on a leash.

I ran my second half today and knocked 14 minutes off my previous time. This time around I trained a lot smarter and I'm training year round which I think helps a ton. The weather in VT was perfect today which also was a plus. I have a ton of respect for those who run distances over a half, I'm so fried.

I get it. I can typically walk it off.
