    Why do the paleo nuts get so bent out of shape in every one of the interviews I've listened to (go to around 25-27 minutes in for the paleo interview on the pod): http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/...o-diet/5347140

    Listen to these clowns when the interviewer questions them on the science of their theory? Their answer "google it". Strong case made indeed.

    Perhaps...these guys retorts are almost always along the lines of "well I can find a scientist that says the opposite..."

    That and it's a prerequisite to be a condescending ass...as if they know our microbiom is the same as that of humans in the paleo.

    Maybe that's why they always sound pissed off? They're literally starving themselves.

    Wait??? The OP is skinny, weak and tired? The guy fooled me. Not saying I am on the diet, but Spats doesn't look weak.
    Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

    Made with honey and yeast while drinking red wine, because you know, paleo humans were able to cook, eat and drink using those items all the time. The only thing we need here is for the paleo dudes to invent the flex capacitor so we can all go back in time to the pure blis that paleo humans experienced...ahh, to live until the ripe age of 34...how wonderful.

    I still think it's weird that Spats said "NEIN" to honey or potatoes (tubers) - 2 foods that "Paleo man" definitely ate (source: my Archaeology Professor sister.)

    Bumping to fight the vegans
    I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

    Trick question

    Vegan :: Yoga Flow
    Paleo :: Crossfit

    I've been eating Paleo for the last 3 months and I can honestly say that my body is very happy about it. I don't eat insane amounts of meat and fat, I do eat a ton more veg and fruit. I don't eat sugar, grains, legumes, milk or yogurt (I eat some cheese, mostly high end parm). Im basically 100% Paleo during the week and 80% on the weekend. If Im skiing or climbing hard (with a boner) I need fast burning calories. I dont think the Paleo diet supports endurance.

    I don't buy that legumes are the devil but I've cut them out anyways. I think hummus is going to break me on that.

    Problems solved as a result of diet or ???

    The neroma in my feet has damn near healed itself after 6 years of pain.
    I no longer have heartburn
    Im never constipated
    My mood is very stable- I can be aggro at times, this has reduced dramatically.
    Overall I just feel better. I feel like I was having a histaminic reaction to something I was eating

    LCHF diets are all the rage among elite ultra athletes these days: https://www.outsideonline.com/192626...t-diet-runners

    We're talking the truly elite, like Western States course record holder and 100-mile WR holder elite. Not that paleo has to be low carb, you can eat all the tubers and fruit you want. Despite Tipp's musings upthread, potatoes are very much allowed. Don't eat the skin though if you eat a lot of them.

    They're pretty benign, good source of fiber and RS for your gut bugs. Soak them overnight and discard the soaking water, sprout if possible.

    Congratulations on the improvements you've seen. Don't get hung up on labels and what is or isn't allowed. Pretty much all whole foods are healthy; crap like "paleo" cookies made with coconut flour and date sugar are not.

    Interesting link, Butters. I followed the hi carbs while training paradidgm and racing. One thing I did notice was how after forty minutes or so(40 minutes into a multi-hour run), I would suddenly have the ability to "kick things up a notch". I think it was a couple of things: fat-burning turning on and leg vasculature opening up (my legs are fuckin' hudge). If I tried to race hard from the outset, I'd explode eventually. Not good. Never did learn to be patient come race day.

    That link barely scratches the surface. On flat terrain some of these guys are able to sustain ~7:00 miles for hours burning nothing but body fat.

    Yup. That's how guys back in the day trained and raced- Barney Kelcker Frank Bonzanich, John Coffee et all. No gel, special drinks, magic energy bars. Many of them drank water and that was about it. And they were ripping out sub 6:00 50's and sub 7:00 100K's.

    LCHF like Keto? The Keto Diet is interesting but damn what a life commitment. Meal prep 100% of the time. I have a coworker that is Keto, he fucking loves it but he eats really odd food.

    Out of all the dietary changes, cutting refined sugar is the most profound IMHO.

    A down side to really healthy eating for me, is I have a hard time maintaining weight because im not hungry. Sometimes I binge on ice cream or crap food just to increase calorie intake.
    Move upside and let the man go through...
