That's a tough one. I sold my '00 F350 with a new transmission and 130k on it with a topper last year. It was a DCLB SRW. Didn't know the maintenance history prior to me owning it, paint was rough. I got $14,000 for the truck and probably should have asked a couple grand more. Can't help you on the Lance.

I've religiously watched the LC market for the last 6-7 years and I wouldn't say doubled but they are certainly up from where they were a couple years ago. I think a nicely built 80 3x locked <200k miles was around $12k and they are $15k now depending on the parts on them. Nice condition, low miles, nice parts like that ebay 80 are easily fetching $20. If you have one 3x locked under 100k, you'll get $10k even without any after market stuff on it.

    .
Yeah, that is kinda inline with what he is thinking for the truck, a little more but newer and in better condition and lower miles. I found a very similar setup on autotrader for $29K and he is asking for less than that.

Dunno about the truck. Older Lances are wood frame with some history of dry rot and there's a wide range of value. Newer Lances are Al frame. Threshold questions are: How old is the camper? How was it stored? In what climate was it stored? Was it dried out after every use?

Those 7.3s with lower miles are getting harder and harder to find and they're fetching really good money since the demand far outpaces the supply. If the truck is really nicely set up then I wouldn't think he'd be out of line asking $15k or $16k for it by itself.

Stored and used primarily in CO and UT. Never indoors though so that is a good point and something I will check into. It is a '99, 9ft bed, hard top (not soft side pop up style). I know there was a small leak at one point near the window above the cab which was repaired.

7.3 PSD value is well documented, $15k easy, probably more if the condition is as you say.

The wildcard in your deal is the camper. I, personally wouldn't pay over $10k for a 17-year-old wood frame camper unless it is in really pristine condition or in high demand/collectible. Try to find some similar models listed nationwide using searchtempest. https://modesto.craigslist.org/rvs/5947299686.html

Yeah, he is thinking $5-6K for the camper. So $15k for the truck, $2K for the topper and hitch upgrades. get's it into the $22-23k range. He is asking $25k. Convenience to him for selling as a package, I could probably get him down to $23K.

It's obscene. I ran a quick search yesterday as I still pine for my 100 series. The availability and prices were nuts. For giggles, I searched for 200 series; there's only one used in 50 miles of me. Dumb.

I would be hesitant to buy the camper. You can buy a bigfoot or northlite for that price. Much better construction for winter use and also holds value better.

Must be some fancy topper. I got mine on CL for $300. Accessories are a dime a dozen for these old Superduty's.

Yeah, it is a very nice camper, but probably not worth that price. The upgraded hitch is also part of that.

If the setup really matches your needs then jump on it and enjoy the convenience of having everything already married and happy. If the guy really is hard core about maintenance then surely he's taken good care of the camper too.

Be aware though that the 7.3 is notoriously cold blooded. Mine has to be plugged in if its gonna have any chance of cranking when it's <0* overnight. Maybe it's that way with all diesels but it's definitely that way with the 7.3.

+1 to 11worth re Bigfoot or Northern Lite camper for winter use. If I had a family I'd get a 3/4-ton or 1-ton and a Bigfoot or NL. There's only 2 of us so FWC + 1/2 ton fits our needs quite well.

Enjoying ours so far, other than a shitty furnace (old style with a pilot, that won't stay lit.) But fixing that tonight. (we're 2 + 2 dog children)

Have you considered sliding in a new furnace? We luv the new tech higher efficiency furnace on our 2014 FWC Hawk, so much nicer, quicker cold start, way less battery drain (for fan) than the old tech furnace on my 2000 Hawk. 2-way fridge a bit step up too.

I bought one of the new Atwood 16,000 btu units. Been a little more difficult to install because of different intake and exhaust locations but I can tell it'll be worth it already. It'll be much quieter too, I think.

You find me one (decent) 80 series with less than 100k on it for 10grand,and I will snap that thing up so fast. 3x locked or not.

Usually cause the people don't know what they have. I missed one down in Utah County one day, saw the ad go up, called the dude at 9am, can I come look at it, 150k, 94 fzj80, $3500. Daughter didn't want to drive it anymore. I had meetings until noon at which point it was gone. Woulda been an easy $2k+ in the pocket.

I think the 7.3 prices are coming down now that the 6.7 is showing it holds up to high miles. It'll always be valuable because of how bad the 6.0 and 6.4 reputations are, and the fact it can run non-ULSD without deleting the emissions equipment.

I would never pay $15-20k for any 90's diesel anything. There are plenty of mid-late 2000's(those rare craigslist finds), for Dodge/Chevy diesels that are in that range. Hell, I'd take a bullet-proofed 6.0 because those 90's trucks are going to fall apart around the drivetrain such as my 92' W250 5.9 cummins did. I had 320k on it, but was replacing everything but the motor and tranny. If I kept it, I was going to have to rewire literally every piece of wiring on it plus a complete new suspension(every component). I would rather spend $4k on a solid rust free 90's Ford F-250/350 with a blown motor then spend another $5k on a brand new crate long block to drop in. $15-20k for an all original say 97' Stroker with 100k on it is fucking dumb.
