    OFFICIAL I70 BITCH THREAD....

    You mean I 70 is the new I 80

If you go to ski areas off the main interstate highways you will find less traffic and fewer skiers.

    Just saying.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

When I was in Tahoe last month I was pretty impressed by how well the snow tires / chains policy was enforced (and how well people followed it)

Colorado really should use Tahoe as a model.

It was pretty strange seeing random ass Honda civics driving on roads with less than an inch of snow with chains. Even saw people driving on dry roads in south Lake Tahoe with chains.

Weird, but I would gladly take that over the I70 shit show.

Also surprised at all the Colorado hate on TGR. Tahoe, even in a good year like this one isn't any better than the I-70 corridor.

Squaw and Kirkwood were dope for sure.

Heavenly isn't even in the same ballpark as Vail / BC / Breck / Abasin.

Northstar was worse than keystone and I try not to ski keystone even once in a season.

Don't understand the Colorado hate on this forum anymore

    OFFICIAL I70 BITCH THREAD....

I don't think it's hate - it's frustration. I think most are frustrated with the population increase in the past few years and the repercussions...

why would anyone stand in line and wait at the gondola with all the gapers, the gondola doesn't go anywhere, head over to the village/ mainstreet station and you'll be on a lift and skiing in less than 10 mins

I have to drop my daughter off there for ski school. If I have my shit together there's no line at about 8:20. That and coming from the free parking it's a change of buss to get to 9. If the gondola is a mess the buss lines are a mess too.

Even with a line it's still the best way to the good terrain/fewer crowds. Skiing a green run is no better than sitting on a gondola.

The city isn't getting much better either, I really wonder how much more it can grow with out having an adverse economic impact to the state. Guess we will get to find out.

I'm sure the fear of I-70 and experience with past missed flights coming home from vacation have caused plenty of people to look elsewhere for ski vacations. Think it's entirely coincidence that Vail invested in a resort in Utah? A resort with no traffic issues and easy airport access?

The resorts will get so popular that nobody will go there anymore!

Keystone was beautiful on Saturday, like spring skiing. Lots of traffic on the drive up and long lift lines, but I'm no more to blame than anyone else. Skied 10-2, drove home over the pass and made it home with no issues at all.

your killing me, the peak 7/8 base area is one of the top ten reasons people hate breck, it's a complete shit show, everyone has their thing and thats cool, I'd rather be sitting on a lift, no lines, skinig a green run, warming up enjoying no crowds, than sitting on a gondola to nowhere, and standing in line with thousands of other who just got funneled to vail resorts bars and resturants, getting to the "good terrain/fewer crowds" is pretty easy from peak 9 base just have to know how to work it

A fun article about the "road problems" in the state and the different ideas to fix them.

Oh I agree peak 7/8 base areas are a shit show. I get out of there as quick as possible and never go back. Early in the day peak 7 base isn't bad at all and from there I can hit up peak 6, get to the tbar, imperial, e chair, twin chutes etc without ever dropping back to the base of 7 or 8. Mercury to the twin chutes hike is a good way to start the day too.

I don't care how much snow falls. I have a right to a congestion and snow free I70 every Saturday.
Best to get accomodations figured out now. Closures will be rampant if this thing is as strong as predicted.

Gratz calling for potential double digit snowfall Saturday night. Combined with everyone coming back from X Games, this Sunday night drive back to Denver should be EPICTM

Clusterfuck is going to be an all-day event tomorrow, I'm sure.

I say 50% they close 70 at Golden by 7:45 due to a jackknifed semi or multiple stranded vehicles. (There will be 2" of actual snow)
