^^^That's some 1% shit right there! Pro tip: avoid weekend I70 traffic by not being in it. If due to weather or a problem with the Citiation, you have to drive, leave after dinner. I'm sure that's a totally accessible strategy for most weekend warriors. Or is it a humble brag?

considering I have to drive home tomorrow after my kid's ski lesson (to see the Stringdusters in Denver) rather than stay the weekend, the lane opening couldn't have happened at a better time!

I70 TR. The Wood Brothers for the mother fucking win! I was blown away. Stringdusters Dead and Petty covers were awesome. Two extremely hot chicks asked me if I had any cocaine for them. Sadly I didn't and I had to leave early because I ran out of steam so I missed the encore and whatever else happened after midnight. The new Hyatt on 14th is extremely nice.

My TR: Kiddo got sick, so we bailed on the ski lesson and held out hope for the show. But the babysitter we had lined up was a joint deal at someone else's house, and we just felt like it was a little too much bad parenting to go through with the plan. Kiddo is usually a trooper but she was really not feeling well. So we sold one ticket to a friend and another friend grabbed the ticket from willcall and sold it for $15.

Glad to hear the Wood Brothers killed it. Saw them at the Folks Fest and was really impressed, they put me over the top in terms of buying tix.

I don't have any hookups on Aspen lift tickets these days... used to ski there for free and regularly poached my friend's condo near the gondola. Great hill. Also had a condo next to snowmass one year... ski in/out is nice. But wouldn't want to go that far on the reg. BC is a great hill.

And people wonder why I-70 is a shitshow. Downtown Denver today was a fucking mess with 3 inches of snow. Driving north on Lincoln this morning I passed an 18 wheeler that turned from Lincoln onto Colfax, made it 30 feet up the hill, got stuck and slid across all 3 eastbound lanes, effectively shutting down eastbound Colfax.

Sorry to offend your sensibilities, but I've lived and skied a lot, in both and there are significant differences. If all he wants is just a place too avoid traffic, then why go past Frisco.
But if someone wants a place to lay some roots and perhaps live, after Denver, then he might consider the RFV. Or the Frasier Valley for that matter.

My commute in this morning from highlands ranch to DTC was smooth. I also posted this in the Colorado Weather thread but felt it was so important it should be posted in both. Everyone was driving very cautiously and saw no wrecks, I love people who drive just like I do.

Doing my C|EH cert this week. Passed on skiing this am, but was on i70 this morning and it was fine, ie. snow packed. But empty. Would have been great. Nearly bagged the class, but it's $3k/week and awesome.

Because there's no safer place to be then in the protection of a big rigs blind spot.

It's also good practice to come flying up behind them, tail gate going their speed and cut people off in the left lane in your pos that can't accelerate going up hill. Fucking awesome.
